LET HER SLEEP

By-fatemolla

Too much noise is going on in the BD newspapers. Too much groaning is going
on in all the BD-nets and websites.

Shhhhh !! Don’t make noise! Let her sleep!

It is all hyenas around, all vultures around. And she did not submit to them
in humility. She literally slapped them hard in her life. She verbally
slapped the whole nation harder by her death.

Don’t just weep and cry. Idle tears only irritate God. It could happen only
because you forgot to fight your own battle hard enough. Well, you did it
before, didn’t you? Aren’t you the same sister who changed our history again
and again? Who was Shakhina of Kella Tajpur? Who was Rani Shiromoni of
“Choarh- Revolution”? Who was Ayesha Begum, mother of Titumeer, Piari of
Kushtia, the rebel queen of “Neel Revolution”, Debi Chowdhurani of
“Fakir-Shonnyashi Revolution”, Bimola Ma’ji, Palia Bamni, Dipswari,
the bright queens of the very first organized women-troop of Tevaga
Revolution? Jahanara, Rubi, Khuku, Shirin Banu, Taramon, Kakon,
Roshen Ara and hundreds of other sister-soldiers of 1971?

It was you. Too bad you forgot it today.

What went wrong after that? Why some other names now continuously slap on
our faces? How many times more you have to be molested and killed before you
open your eyes? Nurjahan of Sylhet, Firoza of Shatkhira, Kodbanu of
Rangpur, Shelly of Sylhet, Nurjahan of Faridpur, Kohinoor of Manikganj,
Taslima of Kox’s Bazar, Shaheda of Rangpur, Nasimun of Bogura, Smritikona of
Barisal, Yasmin of Dinajpur, Seema of Dhaka (Garment-worker), Minara of
Potuakhali, Rohima of Chorfasion, Parul of Borisal………………………………….., a whole
month of this site can be filled with names of all those molested flowers.
A thousand times more of that list is not reported. Now you weep after you
failed to create conscience leaders, conscience people, conscience media,
appropriate system to protect them, or appropriate justice system to punish
the criminals!

By the time you finish reading this, some more wives are already beaten,
some more husbands have already planned to kill their wives for dowry, some
more Road-Side-Romeos have already collected some more bottles of deadly
acid. Some more vultures have silently proceeded with their sharp nails and
teeth towards you. Do you realise that? The whole of Narayanganj is barren
like a graveyard today. It is the same Narayanganj, which saw the
destruction of Mumtaj Begum, Headmistress of Morgan High School and the
leader of our language movement in1952. We even do not remember her name
today.

Try to realise the gene of your nation. This is the nation which, instead of
physically resisting, created and wept with wonderful songs (Ekbar Biday
De Maa……) on 12 years old Khudiram when he was being taken for hanging.
This is the nation who physically gathered and witnessed the hanging of
dozens of freedom fighters in 1857 in the Bahadur Shah Park near Sadarghat,
but never physically resisted. Thousands of people pass by the Rajarbag
Police Station everyday, nobody remembers their own hundreds of sisters,
imprisoned and raped and killed on its second floor mercilessly day and
night in 1971 (Mukti Juddher Itihas – Vol-8 Page 51). This is the nation
that abandoned its thousands of raped women and hundreds of War-Babies of
1971. What do you expect from this forgetful nation?

Seema is killed only because you did not do anything yesterday. She will
again be killed tomorrow if you don’t do anything today. Do something, NOW.
Trust me, it is not difficult. Just make a huge scream, launch a call and
you will find a thousand active dedicated women by your side. And of course
a million of your strong brothers will be there. Make an active pressure
group of women, or activate the existing ones in Dhaka. Then create
tremendous pressure on every nerve and vein of your nation. Nobody fights
for anybody else; nobody except yourself can shape your own destiny. Enough
of lip-service, article-writings have been done only to see increasing
number of vultures with more and more cruelties on you. It is time you stand
up once again, leave the passive route of mourning. It is time you take the
active route of morality. A snake is never killed with peace-talks or with
negotiation. Take a strong stick in your own strong hands. Don’t worry; a
stick in a mother’s hand never brings evil. A stick in a sister’s hand is
only for betterment for all. You start it and we will be there. Otherwise
you and your loving daughters will continue being killed. Do you want that?
Everybody is destined to death, the gem of Narayanganj embraced a meaningful
one. Take up her unfinished job. The wind of change is getting its direction
from her cold frozen dead body.

Our loving doll just now got asleep after suffering an ocean of pain.

Shhhhhh!! Don’t make noise!

Let her sleep in eternal peace.
