Mr Mohiuddin, do you know what happened to the uncle of Hazarat
Mohammad? Despite persuasion, the uncle never converted to Islam. But
Mohammad himself had to say that the uncle would go to "Iraf" because he
brought up Mohammed. No persuasion or greed worked on him. The Uncle was
above the greeds for heaven or lust and all other attractions of so
called "heavenly" indulgence. Your comments on Ahmed Sharif reminded me
of this great man who didn't care about the politics of religion.
Perhaps he understood the power politics to befool people and to rule on
them through ages.
In addition to Avijit, I would like to say that Ahmed Sharif was an
honest and able man. He achieved a certain height through painstaking
hard work and labour. He never licked the boots of the politicians or
the power lobbies. Physically and mentally, Dr Sharif always kept his
backbone straight and upright. And he had a backbone which is very much
unlike that of the people who are alleged to be on a government's pay
roll and spread bull sheets on the net. DR Sharif always tried to call a
spade a spade. Otherwise, he could be the VC of Dhaka University. But he
never bothered. He was really a towering personality and NOT A PIGMY.
The courage he had was the courage of truth. He was far far far far far
far better a person than any of the so called religious people who are
ignorant, dull, lazy, boot licking animals and narrow bustling fanatics.
Read his books and you will understand the wisdom.
The religionists don't need to feel for Dr Sharif. They need to know,
religion doesn't keep a person alive after death but it is good work
that makes a person immortal. This is heaven. THE ALLEGORICAL HEAVEN OF
THE SCRIPTURES is EXAMPLE OF LITERARY WORK THAT MADE HUMAN BEINGS BLIND,
FOOL AND GREEDY.
THANKS,
Gobinda Bar
