This is not first time that some Indian musicians and singers have done it. A few days ago- in the Hindi movie MURDER , the music of Bangla song "Firiye dao" of the Bangladeshi band group named MILES has been used without changing a single rhythm. Now popular Bangladeshi Bengali singer Kumar Biswajit's super-hit song (lyrics and music by Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul) "Ontor jwole jwole re" released in his latest album entitled "Ma Jononee" ("The Mother") has been pirated nakedly by singer Indronil Sen of Kolkata in his album to-be-released during Puja.
It seems Bangladeshi singer Kumar Biswajit has been an addictive choice of piracy for some Indian music directors/singers/companies. In recently released Hindi movie "Keo ho gaya na", the entire rhythm of the the song "dheere dheere" again, has been composed based on Kumar's old but one of the most popular hits "Jekhane simanto tumar".
What is even worse- singer Kumar Biswajit alleges- "in the past- Dubai based Indian Vanilla Music Company had pirated two of my albums entitled 'Ek mutho joosna' and 'shikaree'"."Similarly Indian T series had pirated my entire CD released in '93 named "Best of Kumar Biswajit," says saddened Kumar. "Although there exist copyrights law- there is no implementations whatsoever."
Biswajit concludes- "previously Indians used to pirate English songs; now they are pirating ours without any acknowledgment." However- despite a saddened face, a gleam of smile appears when he comments,"the fact that Indian are enriching their culture while adhering to piracy of Bangladeshi songs is sometimes not 100% bothersome."
