I agree with Jahed. We should not turn MM as a spokesman of any political party.
MM basically wants to uphold the dignity of humanity and to encourage the avid
pursuit of secular philosophy and the scientific enterprise. Our adopted mission
is to defend and promote a naturalistic worldview, rationalism and freethought
on the Internet, not act as a political propaganda machine of any party, whoever
it is.
Again, Although MM publishes articles/features/essays from a secular and
sometimes nontheistic viewpoint, we are not and should not be apathetic towards
politics, especially when Bangladesh is going through such a huge turmoil. MM
will all along stand not only for freedom from religious control but for freedom
from jingoistic government control as well. MM has been founded for the defense
of basic human rights, including the right to protect life, liberty, and the
pursuit of humanity. MM, by its self-choice, will oppose any kind of sectarian
ideologies that use political powers and governments in their mission to crush
dissident opinion, no matter whether it is empowered by Falu-Nizami gang now or
Jaynal Hazari et el in future.
