Miserable plight of religious minorities continues in Bangladesh, silently but steadily. Here are 3 instances (out of many).

Miscreant leader Mastan Fazlur Rahman alias Razu Mian of PS Raipura, District Narsingdee his associates are continuing their atrocities, forcible occupation of properties, looting and antisocial cum immoral activities unabatedly in the very presence of law enforcing agencies, local administrators and Government representatives. Hindu minorities are their easy prey. Their recent targets are Hindu families of the village Hasimpur. Here are a few instances.

1. Mr. Brojogopal Chowdhury, Vice Principal (retired), Bhairab Haji Asmat College of Village Hashimpur, Ps Raipura. This teacher is now on the flee, moving out from one place to another with his family. This gentleman has been forcibly evicted from his village home and his landed and movable property is now under the forcible illegal occupation of said Razu Mian. The Vice principal and those who came forward to his aid were mercilessly beaten and manhandled. A false case has also been filed against the Vice-Principal. Police is not only onlooker, but also allegedly helping the group.
2. Mrs. Geeta Rani Chowdhury, wife of Late Satyalal Chowdhury her family of the same village. The miscreant Razu Mian, in order to grasp the property of late Satyalal, abducted youngest son Mithun of Geeta Rani forced him (Mithun) to donate the property in his (Razu Mian) in exchange of his freedom. After some time, in the same style these miscreants again abducted Shyamal Chowdhury, the eldest son of Geeta Rani tried to take possession of Shyamal's property like manner. In order to achieve their objective Shyamal was exposed to inhuman torture and atrocities. After long 13 days, police however could rescue Shyamal. Two cases were filed against Razu Mian and his associate. But this has little effect on Razu's criminal activities.
3. Dr. Radhagovinda Paul his family of the same village. This family has been continuously harassed, threatened of severe consequences if the doctor refuse to give up his property to the same miscreant. Doctor saheb has been manhandled also. Fearing for his safety to save the honour of the family the doctor flee away from the village to an unknown destiny. Immediately, Razu Mian took over the House and the landed property of this wretched family.

There are  at least 19 cases against this man, but still free as a bird. Police and administrative persons of the locality are callous, ineffective, so also political leaders of all shades of opinion. 42 families are passing their days in fear and despair; no one dare to raise a voice of protest against this anti-social group. It is alleged that Razu has the habit of changing political colour whenever a new Government takes over. The innocent villagers don't know where to look upon for their rescue from the tyrannical hand of Razu Mian. But Razu Mian is not a singularity; Razus are everywhere, in villages, gangjas, towns, cities including the Capital Dhaka.

I feel so ashamed, helpless, very small when I pose that I am fighting against fundamentalism, human-right violation etc., championing the cause of secularism-freethinking-liberty, writing intellectual articles against communalism, fundamentalism, condemning atrocities in Pakistan, Afganistan, Iran, contributing essays on if Got can hate or love, atheism vs theism or, agnosticism vs theism; these at times seem meaningless futile, when I see violation of human right is taking place every moment just in front of my very nose and I can do very little. I become frustrated, nay disgusted. I took solace to Tagore by reciting his poem :

                                          Heneche nihsahaye !

                      Ami ye dekhechhi--- pratikarheen, Sakter aparadhe

                              Bicharer Vanee neerabe nivrite kande ! "

Sorry, I dare not to translate this poem in English . Any one of you Bengali Mukta-mona may try for your non Bengali comrades. But what Geeta Ranis, Sasthi Rani Pals will do, I wonder !
