The hands of Village matabbars their mastan-associates are longer than that of BD courts. Here is an example:

Recently, one Sirajul Islam, a village matabbar of Arpara mouza under Modhukhali sub-district (Upazilla), Faridpur, forcibly took possession of a landed property amounting 73 decimals (R.S. 5440). This property originally belonged to one Dharanidhar Malo of village Bhaturia under Bhumain Union of Madhukhali upazilla, Faridpur, who in 1344 BS ( 1936 AD ) donated his property to his wife Kshudi Sundari Malo through a registered danpatra. After her death, her only daughter Sasthi Rani Malo inherited the entire property and enjoyed full authority till 1981. But the said Sirajul Isalm by manipulation maneuvering, managed to purchase the property of Sasthi Rani Malo through so called auction from the office of the Madhukhali Revenue department (CC no. 615 BK 1981/82 ). She filed a case against this apparently forged auction-purchase challenging its validity and legality (case no. TA 172/91) at the appropriate court, Faridpur. After long 5-years of legal battle she got the decree in her favour. The learned court restored the ownership of the said property to Sasthi Rani by declaring the said forged auction-purchase as illegal. The court verdict was issued on 03.03.96. But even after this decree the said Sirajul Islam forcibly kept the property under his control with his mastan associates and continuously threatening the poor woman of severe consequences if she does not give up her claim on the property. He also managed to get recorded of the property in his name on the basis of the forged auction-purchase papers with the connivance of one Atiqur Rahman, the assistant settlement officer of Madhukhali. The said officer denied the right of Sasthi Rani and refused to straighten out the records in her favour totally ignoring the decree of the learned court which declared the auction-purchase papers as forged.

The wretched, so called low caste woman is now at a loss what to do. She is now octogenarian. Where are the Bangladesh humanists organizations, the Women-lib societies Anti human-right violation organizations? I wonder!
