Does anyone have any Otakon stories that they would like to share with
the rest of the group? I have some pics myself and a really long story
that I will post to my lj once I finish this project in the lab. I
should have it up by Thursday. But I will say this. Although it was
fun, it definitely could have been better. Last year's Otakon ran a
lot smoother than this one. Full details later.

Hey, guys, and welcome back to Morgan for yet another semester! Ok,
I shouldn't have been that excited, but anyway. Our first meeting is
scheduled for next Thursday (9/7/06) at 12pm in NSC 212 A. That's
the new student center. We have our own room! We have that room for
the whole semester! Yay!!!! *ahem* We have lots of things planned

Oh, and I'm gonna attempt to draw a map for you all cuz I didn't
even know where the room was. I had to ask for directions, and then
found out there was a hidden hallway in the building that's
unmarked. Don't want anyone getting lost.

One more thing, Deborah, Brian, and I planned the whole schedule for
this semester. You should see a downloadable file with the
semester's schedule up before the end of the day. To those of you
who don't like the check the web calendar, I figured this would make
things easier for you. You should also see it around campus shortly,
along with a flyer advertising the interest meeting for next week.

Hey. I downloaded the schedule, and I noticed the file has a ".pub"
extension. What program opens that type of file extension, and was I
really supposed to download it?

Another thing... When is the map going to be put up?

I've been meaning to convert the file to a document once I realized
that hardly anyone has Publisher on their computers. The map idea...I
figured I would print out a big arrow and stick them up in the building
directing you to where the room is. I don't really have time to draw
out a map...Sorry ^_^'

The hentai forum scheduled for Friday has been changed to the banner-
making workshop for the banner competition.

I haven't been able to attend the meetings, and there aren't any
synopsis-type emails that get sent through here, but I just wanted to
know if there's anything going on about an AUnltd. website. I
remember seeing it on the membership form that you guys were trying
to make one.

If anything's going on with that, I'd like to help. A website would
probably make it alot easier for all the members to know what's going
on and whatnot. I have a few websites and pretty good with web
design. I could host any site you guys wanted to make and help with
the design of it and whatnot.

Konnichiwa minna-san,

After talking with some members in the club, I was told that some
people would be interested in Japanese tutoring. I know that
Homecoming is coming soon so I will begin tutoring after that. I
will be at the next general session meeting to talk about it with
whoever is present, but just in case I am also emailing the board.

I graduated from Univ of MD with a BA in Japanese studies and
currently I am working on my MA here at Morgan, still focusing on
East Asia. We don't have an Asian studies dept as everyone knows,
but I am trying to make the foreign language/international studies
dept know that there is an interest in Asia so that maybe in the
future they can perhaps create something for everyone.

I am looking to tutor on the following days : M,W,all day Th and if
needed on Friday. Tutoring will take place in the library and I can
have up to groups of five people if you would like to learn with a
friend. Most sessions will last 1 hr. Additional time can be
negotiated.

I do have a tutoring fee which will be $15 per hour for individuals
if they would like to extend the time it will be $10 per half hour.
For groups (between 3-5 people) I will charge $10 per person per
hour. So its cheaper obviously to be in a group. However, you can be
in a group and receive individual tutoring as well. I am flexible.
And if the price scares you a bit, don't worry we will cover as much
as possible in the time allowed! You'll get your money's worth.
Also, if there are any of you that are currently taking Japanese at
Towson, I can help you with your program of study
