Hi Mitch,
Yes, I was at that gig in Vegas that you mentioned. I was the guitar
player, stage right. We probably had 2 then. I play in Las Vegas quite a
lot, not always the Mandalay Bay. Last week it was the Aladdin. My next
gig there in LV is July 14th, I believe. I never know the details
(where/when) until the week before or so. I will let you know. Yes, I
used to, many moons ago, play at the Whiskey, sure.
Yes, I have heard of both your relatives mentioned. Not particularly
because I am here but because I am interested and collect old music, 78
records & sheet music and Buddy Van Horne is a rather well known name I
think anyway.
Thanks, JJ

definitely see the next one. Sounds like you have a stellar career in what
can probably be a tough field. BTW, I have many relatives in LA area ,
Southern Ca. where I was originally from. A Uncle, Buddy Van Horne who is

Francis who played with the John Philips Sousa band back in the early
30's, ever heard of either one? Ever go to the "Whiskey", Sunset strip?
If in town and you get a chance, give me a call

Hi Everyone,
My name in HS was Jeff Poskin. I now go by J.J. Holiday. I am a musician
(guitarist) living in LA and have been for 20+years. I am in New Orleans
at the moment, playing a gig with the actor Jim Belushi. It is Jazz Fest
here in N.O. this week and I am having a blast! It is verrrry late and I
just can't sleep. I've been a member of the House of Blues "house band"
in LA since it opened, we are called The Sacred Hearts. With them, I play
gigs all over the country backing Dan Akyroyd and/or Jim B. as the Blues
Brothers or some variation. (Please excuse any typos as this TV access is
rather akward to say the least & I can't figure out how to start a new
paragraph on this either...sorry) Anyway, right after HS I worked at
Boeing briefly but HATED the lifestyle so I moved to LA for something
completely different. In the beginning, it was kind of tough but I was
having such a good time anyway that I really didn't notice just how
screwed up I was. ha! Now, in a moment of retrospect, I have to say that
the struggles and the persistant desire to be better have been blessings
in diguise. Over the years I've had the opportunity to play with many
true artists and to travel the world touring playing music. I've been
quite lucky I suppose to do something I love for a living. For example a
few of my dreams that have come true; I backed up Bob Dylan on Letterman
back in '84, played with Springsteen one night at the HOB, met and played
for Clinton & Gore during their '95 campaign, there's others... Allman
Bros, John Mayall, etc. I managed to live in France for several months a
few years ago playing with some cool artists... loved it! I play on some
movie scores when I am not out of town. Workaholic, me?...YES. I work for
a composer, David Newman regularly. If you ever hear some guitar, or
something like one, behind dialogue, on a movie he has scored, it could
very well be me; Nutty Professor(s), Flintstones, Never Been Kissed etc.
Just helped write some dance cues for one still being shot called "Death
To Smoochy'. W/some partners, I have scored a few smaller oddball flicks
myself: Trekkies, Suckers, Six Days in Roswell. Most recently, if you
have seen a movie called 'Chocolat', I made it in that for a few seconds
on film as one of Roux's gypsy musicians. Actually my main job was as
Johnny Depp's guitar coach. He played his own guitar stuff on film and I
think he did it pretty well... so therefore my job was done OK too. He
and a few other actors have become good friends over the years as well as
many musicians... just some of the perks of living in Los Angeles and
being persistant... and staying alive. ha! Did a TV pilot w/Belushi for
ABC last month, we have yet to see what happens w/it. To tell you all the
truth, I haven't really thought about Mt.Rainier HS too much since
graduating, but I am glad that someone had the insight to put this group
together. It has been a lot of fun reading all of your messages. Glad to
hear that Mrs.Berdan is still around. I wonder about some others I had...
Mr.Price (Calculus), Mr.Barr (Spanish) & a Biology teacher, Mrs.R? (can't
remember right now) The only person I still know from school is Doug
Mahugh. We were great friends then and got together again a few years
back thru Yahoo 'People Search'. I probably made NO impression in school
really. I wasn't socially involved in much or anything really other than
smoking pot, pulling pranks with Doug and battling acne... so, I played
the guitar instead, I suppose. Little did I think then that it would be
my life now... strange sometimes... how life unfolds. I've been married,
to a native Seattleite, for 20 yrs this year. We have no kids, by choice.
Although I do get to function as a surrogate father to 2 wonderful
nephews. So I don't totally miss out on watching & being involved with
children as they grow up. That's enough of me. Love the postings & hope
to make it to the NEXT reunion, didn't know about the others. JJ

Hi Debbie Matthews,
I couldn't access this group right after I had originally replied to
you late this afternoon due to some sort of maintenance they were
doing. It isn't showing up so I'll write it again. It may have
somehow been lost.
Yeah, I think that may have been the biology teacher's name, Mrs.
Lince ... wow... thanks! I also was in a Zoology class of 3 people
with her in the back of one of her regular biology classes. I've
always thought it was nice of her to even bother with a special class
of 3.
If you ever know of a time that we may be crossing paths in the
future, please let me know. I am in Las Vegas, New Orleans, Atlanta
& Florida somewhere quite often. Once in a while New York, Chicago,
Baltimore, Wash DC...
Good luck to you too! JJ

Hi Kathy,
I had to dig out my old year book to look you up. It sounds like you have
had an interesting career so far. My husband is also a CASA here in
Arizona. He has been involved with the local organization here for several
years. Last year while visiting up in the Seattle area, we met a family
friend, Lucille Wooden. She is the South King County CASA Coordinator,
working through the county government facilities in Kent. My husband is
attending and presenting at the national CASA conference in Minneapolis next
week. Lucille is also attending. My husband has helped the local CASAs
gain some well deserved recognition and support. Me, I just want to bring
all those little children home and make it all better for them. I guess
that's why I'm not a CASA just yet. But I do have some what of an idea of
how tough your job must be. Best wishes to you, and if you have a chance to
work with Lucille in the future, she is a terrific and dedicated person!

So how does one condense 25 years of life into two or there paragraphs? Well it's my turn so here goes.
My name is Brian Loeppky and I was one of those guys who "flew low under the radar" and was not in the high profile set. After graduation I attended Seattle U and got degrees in biology and nursing. I worked in various ER's and ICU's.Had a real interest in diving and have been at Virginia Masons Hyperbaric facility for the past 20+ years (part time). Worked my way up the health care ladder and am currently the director of the Acute Dialysis program at Northwest Kidney Centers. We do the emergency dialysis treatments at most of the Seattle area hospitals. In 93 I went through naval officers training and in my spare time was a reserve officer in a mobile fleet hospital for eight years. Unfortunately I have seen some of our classmates and families in some less that ideal health situations.
Married Nancy Waterman ( MR class of 75) in 1982 and have one daughter age twelve. We live in Maple Valley, WA on 8 acres where we have raised everything from cattle to horses. We have now scaled down to two Labradors at this time.
At age 35 I figured out I needed to get this body to last another 55 years so I took up running as a hobby. Well one thing led to another and now I travel with the family to various states and run Marathons. Will be visiting New York in Nov. and Boston next April. It's a good excuse to travel. My other pastime is skiing. During the winter months my daughter and I can be found at Snoqualmie or Crystal Mountain chasing that wet northwest powder(the wife hung up the skis years ago). I see all these high school "kids" on the slopes and it brings back memories. If only I was brave (or stupid?) enough to ski as fast as them. However, broken bones just don't heal like they use to!
Des Moines and Mt. Rainier are essentially the same other than that there is more people. MY parents still live on North Hill so I frequent the area often. Victor Pennington works for Des Moines fire department and is doing great. I don't see many of our other classmates that often. Has anyone heard of a 25th celebration?
Listening to all your life stories is great and I thank Mike for putting this all together. I know that occasional I say to myself "I wonder whatever happened to that guy/gal", now I might just find out! Take care, Brian Loeppky
Kathy, good to hear from you. I remember you from 3rd grade even if you don't! This has been fun for me as I missed all the reunions, but then was never invited! (boo hoo huh?) But this is fun. Very nostalgic and amazing to see where people have gone and what they do all withn a common thread.
J.J., great hearing about your adventures (and everyone else!). Give my regards to Doug, he was a good friend for some of my grade school. I went to two of the grade schools (Des Moines & Marvista) that fed MRHS as well as both juinor highs, so I may be a little familiar to some of you. Keep it coming...
Hi Cyndi!!!
Glad to hear from you!! I lived around the corner from you!! We were
at the corner of South 210th and 4th or 4th Place (I haven't been
back to that neighborhood since 1980, I think!) I don't remember the
house number.
It's wonderful to hear what you have been up to...and it sounds very
busy!!A grandmother!!! That means we are ALL old enough for that!
YIKES!!! :-)
Best to you,
Debbie Matthews
No, I worked for Quinton Instrument Company.

Hi, this is Cyndi (Dyrdahl) Harrison. I have had a very busy life since
high school. I was married for 12 years and have 4 children. I have been a
single mom for the last 11 years so life has been hectic and all consuming.
I have three daughters and one son. With my youngest at 14, things are
settling down for me. I have two grandchildren, Hannah will be 2 in August
and Stephen will be 2 in October. I worked for a medical instruments
company for about 11 years in the accounting dept, then when they moved to
Bothell and I was commuting from Des Moines, I decided to leave the company.
I am living in Des Moines and I am the Office Manager for 4 Corporations in
the Burien area. One of the companies is an employee leasing company and my
days are constant surprises. I am very involved in my church and am the
Financial Coordinator and will be taking the position of the Administration
Team leader. I love to sing, but don't find many opportunities to share.
I attended the 20 year reunion at Emerald Downs. I was hoping we would have
a 25, but at least it's good to hear about what everyone is doing. I don't
have contact with anyone from high school, but would enjoy getting back in
touch.

Hi Debbie--I just signed up yesterday and haven't had a chance to do a
formal "fill in the blanks" update for the group website yet. So, quickly
(my son is will be wanting lunch in a few minutes...), I do remember seeing
you at the 10th reunion. I also went to the 20th and had fun catching up
with a few people that missed the 10th. It was hard to find everyone (I
helped try to locate people--I had a list of about 60 people or so--with
only marginal success) but the internet should improve the odds next time
there's a reunion....
I live in South Seattle, between Renton and Rainier Beach. I've been
married 14 years, have an 8 year daughter and a 5 year old son. I've been an
attorney for almost 17 years--and shocked that I'm still in the field. The
only way I've been able to handle being a lawyer for the past 11 years is to
do something I think is important and have great clients! I work part-time
for Superior Court, representing CASA volunteers when they go to Court.
They advocate for the best interest of abused and neglected kids, mostly
those in foster care. As you might imagine, it's not a lucrative field but I
usually feel lucky to have a job I enjoy. My husband, Scott, is an auditor
with the Dept. of Defense--he audits Boeing. Yawn. Fortunately for our
family, he is also able to work part-time so we share parenting
responsibilities!
I've been to New York twice, the last time in 1984 (probably mentioned it
when I saw you at the reunion). We travel at least once a year to Hawaii as
my parents still live there--they moved the day after graduation--and try to
squeeze in a European adventure when we can. We actually just returned from
France a few weeks ago--our last trip was in 1997 and I don't know when
we'll get back but I hope it's in 4 years or less as I really love to
travel! Scott is less enthusiastic about it but always enjoys our trips if
I'll do the planning and the kids are at a great age for exploration (they
particularly loved the castles). Most of our other vacations are pretty muc
h around the Northwest. Our best friends live in Boise and we try to think
of fun places to meet. So, I imagine it will be awhile before I get back to
New York--though Scott really wants to go. And then, of course, we'll want
to take the kids to DC when they're just a bit older.
I was so excited to hear about Ms. Berdan. She made quite an impression on
a number of us. I will pass on the news to Lisa Strain and Ann Blake when I
talk with them.
Well, I'd better go get Alex's lunch made so we can get to preschool!
Thanks for inquiring, Debbie. Kathy (aka Kathryn, but still Barnhouse)

Hello all
Wow, it's being going great. I would like to
reiterate Debbie's call that those who have valid
e-mail addresses of class mates, friends, parents
of friends, and even teachers (there's a few I
would like to hear from) should let them know
about the list. They certainly don't need an invitation
from me and can join the way you did or by going
to Yahoo. (BTW, I have no connection with Yahoo
professionally, financially, or whatever.)
Those who have Classmates subscriptions, you
could put your $30 to work and send out emails
to friends (and enemies?) who haven't decided to
join. Note: Classmates will only let you send
out about 20 messages a day.
Also, I invite those who have been lurking
around the back to belly up to the bar. Let us
know how you have been - even if just to say "Hi" -
and let us connect the name to the email address. :>)
I thank all who have been sending in
inputs.
rock on!

Hi Chris...
I am glad you made it on this list! Maybe while you have that
classmates.com membership you could entice a few more of our
classmates over to this site!! Also, with Group Health, you sound
like the perfect ambassador, especially if people are wandering
through. Say hi from all of us! I think I may have a couple of email
addresses of a couple of our classmates. I will try to follow up with
them. I know that I have Tom Belleque's address and Craig Fithian
used to be an 'almost' neighbor of mine here in New York. I haven't
any idea if he is still around, but will check it out. It might lead
to contact with others. Also, I think my mother is still in touch
with Mark Schoner's mother. Will check that too.
Take care everyone!

Hey JJ,
Were you playing with Jim Belushi/Sacred Hearts when they did the Fremont
St. Show in Vegas last October or so? (Average White band, T.O.P and Chaka
were also playing) If so I saw you and the show was absolutely great! Jim
Belushi is very talented. I wanted to see Jim again when he was at the House
of Blues/Mandalay Bay in January, but I was out of town. I will definitely
see the next one.
Sounds like you have a stellar career in what can probably be a tough field.
BTW, I have many relatives in LA area , Southern Ca. where I was originally
from.
A Uncle, Buddy Van Horne who is a stunt coordinator for many movies, in
Newport a great Uncle, Arthur Francis who played with the John Philips Sousa
band back in the early 30's, ever heard of either one?
Ever go to the "Whiskey", Sunset strip?
If in town and you get a chance, give me a call

Hi Everyone, My name in HS was Jeff Poskin. I now go by J.J. Holiday. I
am a musician (guitarist) living in LA and have been for 20+years. I am
in New Orleans at the moment, playing a gig with the actor Jim Belushi.
It is Jazz Fest here in N.O. this week and I am having a blast! It is
verrrry late and I just can't sleep. I've been a member of the House of
Blues "house band" in LA since it opened, we are called The Sacred Hearts.
With them, I play gigs all over the country backing Dan Akyroyd and/or
Jim B. as the Blues Brothers or some variation. (Please excuse any typos
as this TV access is rather akward to say the least & I can't figure out
how to start a new paragraph on this either...sorry) Anyway, right after
HS I worked at Boeing briefly but HATED the lifestyle so I moved to LA for
something completely different. In the beginning, it was kind of tough
but I was having such a good time anyway that I really didn't notice just
how screwed up I was. ha! Now, in a moment of retrospect, I have to say
that the struggles and the persistant desire to be better have been
blessings in diguise. Over the years I've had the opportunity to play
with many true artists and to travel the world touring playing music.
I've been quite lucky I suppose to do something I love for a living. For
example a few of my dreams that have come true; I backed up Bob Dylan on
Letterman back in '84, played with Springsteen one night at the HOB, met
and played for Clinton & Gore during their '95 campaign, there's others...
Allman Bros, John Mayall, etc. I managed to live in France for several
months a few years ago playing with some cool artists... loved it! I play
on some movie scores when I am not out of town. Workaholic, me?...YES. I
work for a composer, David Newman regularly. If you ever hear some guitar,
or something like one, behind dialogue, on a movie he has scored, it could
very well be me; Nutty Professor(s), Flintstones, Never Been Kissed etc.
JJ

Debbie Matthews
It is very good hearing about you as well, and thanks for the email.
The Sand Rails are a wild ride, just something I enjoy doing. But more than that, it is also a great social gathering and get away from reality, so to speak. I have actually spent the last two Thanksgivings out in the desert, which is something I never thought I would be doing and they have been the best. We cook the Turkeys in the ground
(Hawaiian Style, like they do the pigs) and have had up to 80 or so people in our camp, Motorhomes, Trailers etc.. At Dumont Dunes, I would say there are usually 8 to 10 thousand people out there at the busy weekends, Thanksgiving & Presidents day, enjoying the Dunes/Desert.( A lot of Californians with nothing but $$$)
BTW, I've been to New York city several times, back in the 80's. Saw Cats on Broadway, what a play that is. Did most all the usual tourist stuff, even the Time Square thing at New Years. I could rattle on and on about the things to do back there, Cloisters, Circle Line tour, Empire building, Central Park etc.. and I am so glad I was able to see so much in three or so visits. Manhattan is a place everyone should experience. Don't know if I could ever live there though.
Also went to up state NY, Lake George area which is beautiful.
It is great seeing what old classmates are up to. After moving here, just 3.5 years ago from the NW, I can see I'm going to have to dig those year books out, just to refresh on who everyone is/was.
I did get to the 10 & 20 year reunions, and won't miss the 30 for anything. Hope you can make it as well.
On kind of sad note, but one that I feel I should mention, is the 20 year reunion was difficult for me, as I had just lost my twin brother Michael and his wife, 8/95. They crashed in their small plane coming back from a Arabian Horse show, where their Horse took first place in the semi nationals in Canada. Mike was kind of introverted in High School and ended up being just the opposite later in life. He was very successful, President of the Des Moines Rotary one year and very active member in the community. He and his wife, Jan, did many things for a lot of people and had huge Hearts.
Debbie, with your permission, could I forward this reply to the group site?
Also, I like pictures, here is a picture of one of my toys. This one is very very fast.
Hi Mitch... Great to read what you are up to!! You must be the Sand Rail King!!!! I had some friends that used to live in Las Vegas that did all that when they were there. They were always trying to get me there to do it. It must be wild. I almost made it before they got transferred to another job. Rats. It must be awesome. I thought New York City taxis were a wild ride...... What a hoot to catch up on what everyone is doing! Best, Debbie Matthews
This is Chris (Muller) Carlsen...I've not been as busy as some of you. Wow!
The things you've done and the places you've been... The most exciting place I've been was to Disneyland in 1995 for the only time, when my kids were 8 and 5. My son is now a Senior and my daughter a Sophomore at Thomas Jefferson High School, here in Federal Way.
I've been married 21 years and have worked for the same company for just over 22 years. I'm a receptionist at Group Health and I've seen a few of our classmates over the years at work. I never heard about a 20 year reunion, but would've gone if I'd known... It would be nice to get together this year, being 25 years and all...
Mike, it's great that you put this together, and I guess the best thing about Classmates.com is that we all had someplace to put our names for contact.
The $30 wasn't a total waste, since I got 2 free magazines out of it, and I was able to contact Connie (McCorkle) LaBreque, who's living with her family in Connecticut. But I won't renew the membership next year, since it'll let us list our names for free...
I look forward to reading more messages from everyone....
Well, I guess I can take a shot at this although it seems that I didn't actually spend much time in high school. By the way for all of you who stuck with it and actually walked the aisle, kudos. I have since been back and put a wrap on my education, in fact I picked up a Bachelors and Masters of Sciences (Computer Sciences) which is a good thing when you have to put 3 kids through school (oldest starts college next year and the others are soon to follow).
I live on the East side of Kent as well, about a block from Lake Meridian with my wife and three teenagers (2 girls and a boy). I have managed to keep in touch with a few people from school - Brad Bryan (class of 77 - owns a company that does geo surveys with CAD and GPS....go figure). Rick Thomas (76) is living in Juanita with a wife and two teens, Gary Pina (75) is living down in Sumner if I am not mistaken. I haven't seen others (Vic Pennington, John Heberling, Paul Anderegg, Rick Manriguez, Greg Staples, etc) for some time.
I moved to Mukilteo in 77' to get a fresh start and that proved to be a good plan. My wife and I have been married for 20 years and are looking forward to another 20.
I have been working in the field of Project Management for almost 10 years - mostly the technology sector. I spent some time working in Europe and Asia for USAID and World Bank - I fancied this idea that we can use the free market economy to prevent war.....I left Skopje, Macedonia in 98' when it became painfully apparent that we hold some pretty absurd notions. The last year and a half I have worked for Logicon FDC managing DoD upgrades to federal networks. It's been really busy lately.
Ken,
I remember you pretty clearly, although you seem to be playing with bigger toys these days. I have only been to Powell once, but it was pretty impressive and a whole lot warmer than the water at Covenant Beach.
Debbie,
Say Hi! to your brother on behalf of myself and Rick Thomas ('75).
It's a good thing that we can all say Hey! a few years later.....ok, 25 years later.
Mike Leghorn

Hi Everyone...
What a pleasure this has been to read what you all are doing... I have often wondered about many people in our class!! I am Debbie Matthews....not sure if any of you remember me. I took the all the science, math, history (as much Glennon as I could)classes that were offered. I also lettered in swimming and was Girls Club President (sheesh, had forgotten that one...)in our senior year. After our class, Girls club disbanded as it was deemed sexist.
My family lived all over the map when I was growing up...so I joined this group in 10th grade...never went to Pacific or Olympic Jr. High.
After Mt. Rainier, thinking I would no move anymore, I went to UDub and graduated four years later...then moved to New York City for graduate school. After grad. school I worked for a non-profit agency doing development(fundraising/grantwriting)here in New York. After I found that the Executive Director was embezzling, I went to the Board. Well, rule #1: When you squeal to the board, you cannot expect to keep your job long. So, I sought other options. Being fluent in American Sign Language, I decided to develop my interpreting skills. Although I have had positions in various places, I am now self- employed as a sign language interpreter. Everyday is different...one day I am in a court room, the next an emergency, the next corporate training, the next a Broadway show or on television (you know, the person in the bubble). I have been fortunate to work in a wide variety of places and come into contact with a wider variety of people. Living in New York City for nearly 21 years (is that possible?) has been quite the experience. I expected to be here two years and be back in the Northwest. Somehow, I stuck. In recent years, however, I have felt a definite 'pull' to move back west. Who knows what will happen with that. My parents continued to move around after I left and have been in Illinois, upstate NY, Boston, Rhode Island, Wash. DC and now have settled (My Dad just retired) in California. My younger brother is in SF and my older brother, Chuck (Class of '75), whom some of you may know is in Redmond working for Boeing. I am still single and no kids.
I really enjoyed reading what all of you are up to...and, of course, made connections. I, too, attended the 10year reunion, but didn't hear about the 20 year reunion, though not sure that I would have been able to be there. This year, however, I was thinking IF there was a 25 year reunion, I would consider it...now it doesn't seem to be in the works. Thanks Mike for heading this up!!
For any of you who took Chemistry, Miss Berdan is alive and well and living on Orcas Island. I am still in touch with her. What a riot she is!!
I look forward to hearing/reading more about everyone as we move forward. It's always nice to have a touch of the Northwest here in the Big Apple!! It's wild here...but it CAN'T compete with Ken's woods and moose! Best to you all, Debbie Matthews

Hi Again:
When I wrote my first little post I was "blind." Hadn't seen anything anyone else had written and Yahoo was just acting strange! As of yesterday finally got it working with the 3rd new password attempt and didn't have to wait over 24 hours. So if others are slow to respond, maybe they had Yahoos giving them trouble too!
The last most of you ever saw me, I was heading for my senior year at a little highschool (Graduating class was almost 80 I think!) in Coulee Dam Washington. I was really preoocupied with football then, I had a childhood paralysis in one leg and I'm soo optimistic and naiive (still). Must have been that Self-image class I had from Jim Kennet as a sophomore. Got a very small tuition scholarship ($300 bucks or something) to play football at a JC in Eastern Oregon and became student President, and homecoming king (It was a really small school ok?) Then I wandered back to Seattle, worked at a shipyard in Ballard and finished my undergrad at the Dub in Economics. I didn't want to work in a bank and with the shipyard stuff got laid off a lot back then. Came down to flying or law school (had a couple of professors at my JC reccomend it, I didn't even know how then). If TopGun had come out a little sooner, maybe the military thing wouldn't have scared me so much.
So I went to law school in California. Lost most of the hair I had left! Met my Ex-wife there (married 10 years, one daughter who is 10 now). I wanted to live in Idaho (family and liked the outdoors) moved up there. First job was as a Deputy Attorney General for the Idaho Department of Water Resources in Boise. Then went into private civil practice doing natural resources, commercial and insurance defense like work. I practiced for 12 years but had extraneous things happen that caused like an early midlife crisis.
My grandmother got alzheimers and I was the one to take care of her legally. My father had been an only child and died when I was 11. It was hard on me, questioned alot about who I was and where in life thing. It started this transition.
I now live up in the mountains of central Idaho. No white supremicists. 12 miles to my PO Box as there is no rural mail delivery. Its about 22 miles form the semi-resort town of McCall, 5,000 feet elevation, long winters and lots of nature. This is the first year I've seen wolves. Two years ago there was a moose that fell into the ice and was frozen right off the road with its rearend sticking up out of the ice for aleast 2 months. Thought I'd be up here a max of 2 years, is 4 years now and scarey that I like it so well. Probably the weirdest thing I've done yet is to do Firewalking, pretty powerful stuff. I have fun with life.
My daughter lives in LA now, but I get her summers and adjusted my lifestyle so I don't have to work at those times. Worked the forest fire Clinton visited last year after my daughter left. Now am just thinking what I'll do when I grow up!
Have a great weekend!
Ken

Mike,
I haven't had time to link my AOL email to Yahoo's, but this is Chris
Carlsen (Muller in school) so you can let others know.
Thanks, Chris
Well I guess it's my turn. As I read these emails, it really takes me back.
I can remember things about each of you (all good). Since I left high
school I have moved around allot. I've lived in CA, Idaho, Montana, and
now in Utah. I had to move around as I climbed the corporate latter for a
wholesale drug company. I did that for 15 years and got tired of the
corporate life, so I started my own distribution companies. I am now
working in the duplication and replication and authoring of CD's, and DVD's.
It is a very interesting industry. I spend time in Hollywood with some of
the studios as we are working on taking their titles to DVD. I am glad to
get home after a few days there. I have been married for almost 22 years
and have 4 kids, 3 girls and a boy. My oldest daughter is married and my
son is in college and the other 2 are in middle and high school. My wife
and kids are very talented musically. Those who remember me in band at
Pacific with Mr. Nelson, will remember I have no talent in the area. I
ended up here in Utah before I left the drug company and decided to stay ( I
was told by my family we were staying.) My oldest daughter by the time she
was 14, we had lived in 14 different places. So we are going to be here for
awhile. I love the outdoors and so this is a great place to live. I am on
the slopes in 30 min, or on the lake in 45 min. I went to the 20 year
reunion and it was weird to see how everyone had changed. No one that I
hung around with was there, so that was disappointing. I did notice that
there seemed to be a group that were still hanging out together, Curt Buck,
Mike Malmo, and that group. It was weird to drive around the town and see
the changes. I even walked around Des Moines Elementary and the field
house. Those places look the same as when I went there. The high School
looks different with the thick brick walls. It was great to let the
memories flood in. Well, I hope more people join in on the site. It is
great to hear how each of you are doing. Thanks Michael for putting this
together.
Just so that this doesn't become a men's only club, I thought I'd
drop in a line. I'm Carmel Porter (I was Carmel Schwartze back in
high school.) I have made my home in Scottsdale, Arizona. My
husband and I have spent 15 wonderful years here together. No kids
from our marriage, but we have raised some beautiful Boxers! And we
currently seeing my step-daughter through medical school. I am a
financial analyst at Mayo Clinc Scottsdale, but I spent the first 20
years of my working life in the investment banking world.
I have spent many summers boating around up at Lake Powell, and it is
a sight to behold! But you know what they say about us desert rats,
we love our water! (As I recall, I missed out on the 10 year reunion
because my two weeks on the houseboat conflicted with the reunion
dates.) Life is good here in the Valley of the Sun, but I do miss
the Pacific Northwest - all except for that incessant rain. I prefer
the rapid fire down pours we receive here. Most of our sports teams
suck, but we have a fantastic baseball stadium - I think it rivals
that new one they built up there in Seattle! - and we are soon to
have a new football stadium for our sorry Cardinals.
Well, I'll stay tuned and see if anymore of us 76 graduates join in
on this site. It was great to see someone make the effort to bring
us together!

Hi old Rams:
I was a member of '76, but moved away my final year to Eastern Washington. I'm in the '75 annual, haven't seen anyone for a long time. I was going to be ASB V-P, played football, had the nickname of "Wooly" or "Wool" Sheesh, that's been a long time! Hope you are doing great,. I haven't got the previous messages yet, Yahoo is either screwing up or just slow in recognizing my password.
Yours truly,
Ken

Hello all, this is Mitch Graham and hello to any old friends!
I am currently living in Henderson, NV, just outside of Las Vegas. I work from home, most of the time if I'm not traveling. I am a Sr. Field Support Specialist and have worked for this Midwest company for 16 years now. I travel a little, usually around the west coast and sometimes International. I've been to Korea and Malaysia in the last 1.5 years and hope to get to the UK soon.
I have seemed to dodge the bullet when it comes to marriage, however, did come very close a couple of times. I am currently single and looking.
I still have the Tenor Sax, any of you remember the Jazz Band? and I still get it out occasionally.
I have met a group of folks down here that are in to the Sand Rail thing (Dune buggies if you will) and we do some serious trips to the dunes in the winter here. It's a lot of fun and the people are great. I equate the experience to driving your own roller coaster, yes, I refuse to grow up!
I also have my Tournament Ski boat and practically live on Lake Mead in the sizzling hot summertime. Also spend time at Lake Powell, which is absolutely gorgeous and I highly recommend this place to anyone that hasn't been there, to put it on their list to do sometime in life.
I have a Cat, Miss Whiskers, who has been around for 10 years.
I get up to Seattle usually a couple times a year, and am coming for SeaFair as I do some photography and miss those Blue Angels...

Hello all
How does one start a discussion on a list like this?
We've got 12 people signed up at this time and I should,
at least, welcome you all and thank you for participating
in my experiment. I'm just going to plow ahead and
if I look or sound foolish - so be it. I have talked to a
couple of you directly and they seem excited by the idea
so maybe others are as well. For sure, signing up on
Classmates.com never produced any results for me and I
don't think paying the $30 would have done much more.
Probably the best way to start is to identify who we are.
I hate to say it, but most of the e-mails addresses are rather vague
and that's all any of us have to go on right now. Below is a
list of those who have signed up and who I THINK you are. If
you prefer anonymity and just prefer to monitor - that's
cool too.
Me? I'm Michael Dinkelman. I was a non-descript member
of the class of 76. No letters, no honors, not a head,
a jock, not on the party circuit - just a basic run-of-the-mill
member of the school. My thing was Chess and the Amateur
Radio Club. Excitement eh? I remember some of your faces
but when I left Mt. Rainier, that was pretty much the end
of of any contact except for attending the 10 year reunion.
I have actually had more contact with people I knew in the
gradeschool as a military brat than the people I
spent 3 years going to high school with.
Life synopsis? I been happily married 23 years, no kids, 3
step kids. I have a 2 year technical degree in Electronics
and a Bachelors in Computer Science. I work as a Software
Engineer at a local medical electronics company. I'm
highly active in the local Amateur Radio Community and have
a place out east of Kent where you can grow 100 foot towers
without the neighbors getting crazy. At this point, I'm not
particularly nostalgic about my high school years and the
few people I did hang with back then haven't shown up on
alumni websites such as Classmates.com. Still, I do
feel a bond and as our 25th anniversary rolls around,
it would be nice to have a regular channel of communication
that doesn't cost $30 a year to keep open, even if it
was only used sporadically. If this ever really took off,
it would be nice to post an actual Webpage. (I've got
25 Mbytes sitting at my ISP doing nothing.)
So, anybody else feel the urge to unload? :>)
best wishes
