Hi

This is certainly not your regular salsa band/music. They are creating a new style of Salsa-Alterna/Salsa-Rock. Listen to the samples at:

http://www.theClave.com/zombraalterna

"Zombra Alterna' founded in Santiago de Cali in 1999 with the motive of giving the world a new musical style.
It’s journey has marked the history of music through a fusion of genres; Salsa & Rap, Rap with African and Latin sounds, Hard Core Rap fused with Salsa, Salsa & Rock, Cumbia with Rap & Rock, Dance & Pop with Arab Harmonies , Raggae Murphy & Salsa. This simply is a new genre "Salsa Alterna".

Rhythms like Salsa (Guaguanco, Son, Son Montuno) Rock and Pop are the basis for this innovative approach that captivates audiences without losing the essence and joyous rhythm that characterizes Salsa.

"Zombro Alterna" consisting of Harold Arias Garces (Executive Producer), Henry Arias Garces (vocals) and Freddy Arias Garces (Composer, Arranger and Vocalist) is a musical family which is realizing the dream of changing national and international music.

Check it out and I hope to see you on the dance floor.

Louis

Press Release
''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''
For time eternal conversation has been the footnote of modern man.
It's really where it all began, without it we can't survive, we
couldn't live. Without that most basic of needs we would quickly go
insane. Human nature dictates the need to converse, we are a social
animal. Now that most ancient of human traits is being expanded beyond
all recognition. Today we are pleased to be able to take our
conversational experience to another level. Taking something that we
all do, in our own homes to another level completely. Now we ask you
to join in our global chat from around our table.

Around The Table.TV is a global test bed of future communications.
Neither distance, gender nor persuasion is a barrier. You are
cordially invited to join us in what we hope will be the biggest
social experiment since the invention of the Internet. Global chat
around our virtual table. Each of your ideas, thoughts & perspectives
is a "drop" that makes our "ocean of conversation". No rules except common
courtesy, no barriers except your own imagination. All are welcome to
join in this ground breaking seminar of global interactive discussion.
We aim to make it as easy to participate as a conversation should be.
No registration, no conformation, no delay. You can tweet, Facebook,
text or call, anyone with an Internet connection can attend. You can
even come along in person. All are welcome in our global living room.
Around The Table.TV is just what it pronounces to be. A fully televised
discussion from around a beautiful table. Broadcast live across the
Internet, no cuts, no retakes, just as conversation should be. Bring
your opinions, bring a sleeping bag & stay over. We are bringing chat
from http://www.aroundthetable.tv to your home, to your office, wherever you may
be, whatever you may be doing, all are welcome.

The Format
''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''
The Table will be situated in the centre of the floor surrounded by
"the audience", there will be chairs at the table which will be
occupied by whoever wants to be there.

There will be a pot in which we can put our suggestions subjects for
discussion at the table. Every 30 minutes, one new subject will be
randomly selected.

Each person at the table can discuss the subject for 60 seconds then
allow someone else to take it up if anyone wants to. At the end of 30
minutes a 5 minute summing up of the discussion will take place, then
a new subject will be selected.

If our table is full and someone wishes to participate, we will request a
volunteer to surrender their seat if no one wishes to do so we will draw
straws.

We would like to create the feeling of your home and invite you to
bring snacks, food, etc to share - there will be soup, a bottomless coffee pot
and teapot.

This is the third of a series of experimental events in this genre and
it will be videoed and broadcast live over the Internet. The video will
also be edited down and distilled into capsules to be shown on the
Internet at a later date.

Those who are watching on the web will be able to interact with the
discussions through social media streams on the website
http://www.aroundthetable.tv
and Twitter which will be projected on a large screen
in the venue, these contributions will be fed into the ongoing
discussions and back out through the web cast, maximising the potential synergy
of the event.
http://www.twitter.com/aroundtabletv - follow us
and interact with the discussion using @Aroundtabletv

We are also encouraging people to host and video similar events in
their home town and upload them to Youtube which we will embed on the
http://www.aroundthetable.tv/ website

Hello Everyone

As you may or may not know I will be traveling to Bethlehem, PA to teach
workshops and lecture at 2 colleges. This is part of the trip that includes New
York next week. I wanted to share with you an interview that I did as part of
the promotion so that folks can get to know me better.

(Musings with the Maestros: An Interview with Ernest Williams (Nov. 3, 2010)
Ernest Williams will be visiting Bethlehem and New York City between November
11th and November 15th presenting a series of lectures and workshops
illuminating the relationship between African cultural influences and the tango.
He spent some time talking with La Vida Del Tango about his journey from
break-dancing in Philadelphia to being the protagonist of what may be the
most-watched performance of canyengue on youtube (upwards of 24,000 and
counting). See our Workshops page for scheduling and details.

LVDT: You seem to have been involved in dance a long time.

EW: I've loved dancing since I was a child. I grew up in Philadelphia and when
I was a kidthat was back in the late 1970s and early 80sbreak-dancing was the
thing and I was always out there, pop-locking and all that kind of stuff. I did
Michael Jackson imitations and I even entered a school competition with red
jacket, zipper and gloves. In the `hood there was always a new dancethe wop or
the smurf, whatever new dance was out that year, I would do it. One time my
older sister told me "all you is that break dancing, that's not dancingyou
can't dance." That bugged me! Although I didn't let it get me down, I kept it
in mind..........)

Salsa: Sonido Criminal release their first album ”Crime Payz” on theClave.

http://www.theClave.com/sonidocriminal

Sonido Criminal is part of a new generation of Hard Core Salsa. Sonido Criminal was founded in 2006 by Carlos Mojica (lead singer, sonero, song writer) born in Paterson, NJ to Puerto Rican parents.

Carlos has been influenced by soneros such as Ismael Rivera, Hector Lavoe, Pete "El Conde" Rodriguez, Tito Allen, Ray De La Paz, Ismael Quintana, Chamaco Ramirez and Justo Betancourt.  Carlos began singing at the age of 15, gaining his experience by singing with local bands and later on sharing the stage with various artists including Ismael Miranda, Brenda K Starr, Luisito Carrion, Hector Tricoche, Lalo Rodriguez, Tito Puente Jr and Johnny Polanco Y Su Conjunto Amistad (one of LA's top salsa bands).

Currently Sonido Criminal is promoting their first CD, the critically acclaimed, highly anticipated, "Crime Payz," which includes the songs “RUMBA EN EL CIELO”, "PURO Y SIN CORTE", "SANDUNGUERA" & "FACEBOOK" and is now available for purchase on theClave.

This young and talented Salsa singer delivers a very soulful, passionate and intense melodic voice combined with incredible soneo & rap skills as well as tight & masterful arrangements that are taking the Salsa world by storm with every song. This debut album promises to be a classic for all salseros across the globe. This is Salsa Dura at its highest degree with perfect twist of urban, New York, hip-hop influences that will be noticed in his style and flavor.  “Crime Payz” is original, creative and relevant.  This classic album is guaranteed to move you and your feet.

Sonido Criminal's music is being heard on on-line radio stations and satellite radio both nationally and internationally.

Check it out and I hope to see you on the dance floor.

Salsa: Bloque 53 release their new album ”TE HACE MOVER LOS PIES” on theClave.

http://www.theClave.com/bloque53

This is Salsa Dura with a strong Mambo Vibes feeling. It is definitely original and it is very good. I am really looking forward to it moving my feet.

Bloque 53 started at the end of year 2006 in Barcelona, Spain, driven by their members search for new sounds based on salsa styles, without loosing the spice of salsa dura.
Their members are from Venezuela, Colombia and Catalunya, with a great experience on the latin musical field. They have earned huge experience sharing stage and being back up musicians of great salsa artists such as Cheo Feliciano, Andy Montañez, Oscar de Leon, Cano Estremera, Larry Harlow, among others.

They are known for a very special and personal sound, very spicy and sweet at the same time, based on a solid rhythmic section and a mellow vibraphone.

Their new album TE HACE MOVER LOS PIES (makes you move your feet) was released in January 2011, with special guest Marcial Isturiz, sonero from Venezuela, and Diana Feria from Canary Islands. The new cd has 12 original songs, full of danceable salsa rhythms. Bloque 53 will be touring during 2011 with the MAKES YOU MOVE YOUR FEET TOUR 2011.

Working With Children

I have an enhanced CRB certicate enabling me to accept offers to teach children to dance.

Individual (Private) Lessons

Individual lessons are ideal if you may also want to learn a routine for a special occasion (such as a wedding or anniversary party), but please don't leave it until the last minute to avoid spoiling your special occasion Individual lessons also make good wedding presents - especially if they are taken in good time.

The fastest way to learn to dance is to supplement your group classes with individual lessons (or private lessons as they were once known) whatever that genre of dance that may be. For a limited period which has been indefinitely extended, we have secured the exclusive use of a private spacious mirrored room in Whitechapel, London E1 for individual lessons for only 25 per full hour. I will charge extra to travel to you depending on your location. Please contact me for a quote.

The advantages of individual lessons are that they are tailor made to suit you. You can learn whatever you want to learn at your own pace in the style & level of your choice rather than take the risk of wasting time. This is particularly useful if your time is valuable or if you work during unsociable hours. Some people feel too shy to go to group classes until they feel reasonably competent.

In addition to any style of salsa, you also have the option of learning any of the alternative dances listed here.

If you feel that you are not learning sufficiently fast, or wish to learn something that you are not getting out of group lessons, then you may consider learning on a one to one basis, a couple to one teacher or a small group with me I would be pleased to hear from anyone considering learning individually.

Best of British Season 2011

Mama Africa features BUMI THOMAS, BULAWAYO, AMAZIAH and introduces PHOENIX MARTINS. It is a celebration of African Women's music throughout the Diaspora in the name of the finest singer and activist Miriam Makeba and in memory of fellow South African artist Doreen Thobekile... 2011 is also the 100th anniversary of the first International Women's Day!

March 25th is set to excel with the melodic and feisty Zimbabwean strength of BULAWAYO led by CECILIA NDHLOVU (Mbira/Vox), the awesome and totally unique afro acoustic soul of Nigerian born BUMI THOMAS and AMAZIAH's class reggae jazz fusion. The evening is hosted by ROSEMARY LARYEA creator/presenter of COLOURFUL LIFE on Colourful Radio.. DJ NIMZ carries the swing

WOM@TT enters a third successful year of promoting, developing and high profiling UK based African, Caribbean and Latin artists - the Best of British - in the finest venues.

Come one come all and spread the word - bring your friends.

As a regular told us: " Wom@ nights have such an amazing energy, it is the type of night that makes you want to go back again and again- both the people and the music are wonderful! Everyone I met at the night I went to at Ladbroke Grove was warm and returned a smile – which isn’t something you always find in London. Another important factor was that the music was an incredible fusion that just made me want to dance all night!"
