A group of concerned Filipinos living and working in Cambodia gathered one weekend to discuss the current state of the Philippine government. This was brought on by the revelations of Jun Lozada regarding the ZTE-NBN deal, the latest political scandal in the Philippines.

This resulted in the organizing of a post-Valentine gathering on February 15, 2008, the goal of which was to share accurate information on what is happening in the Philippines today and to discuss what Pinoys in Cambodia are feeling towards this issue. About 60 people came to this affair, ate the buffet dinner, listened to speakers who provided an accurate and objective account of this latest manifestation of the corruption that has been plaguing this present government. A statement was drafted and signatures were gathered so that this can be sent to the Philippine embassy. Opinions were also sought on how people can, at the very least, continue to exchange information.

This e-group was one of the first suggestions on how the group can exchange information and updates. Other means of involvement and participation will be announced in the coming days.
