This is the listserve for Morgantown Poets, a local, community literary/arts group serving north-central West Virginia. Morgantown Poets hosts a monthly event from 7-9 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month at Monongalia Arts Center (MAC) 107 High Street in Morgantown (beside Hotel Morgan). These events at the MAC are free and open to the public, providing literary enthusiasts the opportunity to express themselves, share their work, network and to connect up-and-coming writers with more established authors. New writers are welcome. Events usually begin with a presentation by a featured author followed by an open reading by participants/attendees (sign up sheet, first-come-first-served).

The Morgantown Poets listserve is for people in and around Morgantown, West Virginia who like to read, write and listen to poetry, literature and art. This listserve is particularly geared towards organizing/getting out announcements regarding poetry/literary readings, slams or other such events at which poetry is read at public venues (such as The Bookshelf, Club Octane, the Blue Moose Cafe, on university campuses, Monongalia Arts Center, public libraries, etc.) We highly encourage free (no admission) poetry/literary events that are open to the public.
