Description

This group is dedicated to the study and appreciation of author Morris L. West and his works.

Morris Langlo West (1916-1999), best known pseudonym of Thomas Gilroy, was a bestselling Australian writer, probably most famous for his novel The Shoes of the Fisherman, which was also adapted into a 1968 hit movie. His thrilling novels often focused on the intersection between international politics, business, and religion. In the past he also wrote a few works under the pen names Julian Morris and Michael Yorligt.

Morris West's deeply intelligent works are exceptional in many ways, offering some of the most insightful views on world affairs (such as predicting the selection of the next Pope 15 years before Pope John Paul II) and a deep understanding of human nature, as well as being gripping tales of adventure. West's works are the inspiration and benchmark for many modern thrillmasters, from Cussler to Clancy to Dan Brown.

Some of Morris West's bestselling novels include:

The Devil's Advocate
The Shoes of the Fisherman
The Salamander
Harlequin
The Navigator
Proteus
Lazarus
The World Is Made of Glass
Cassidy
Vanishing Point

I found Clowns of God for a buck in hardcover the other day! Still haven't read it, though. I'm reading Maritain and Pearce's Literary Converts at present. Ron
