Description

Moorcock's Multiverse is a celebration of the infinite worlds, dimensions, cultures, and characters created by famed SF/fantasy author Michael Moorcock. Most famous of these creations is the albino Prince of Ruins Elric of Melnibone with his black soul-eating sword Stormbringer. But even this character is merely one aspect of the Eternal Champion, the recurrent lives of which Moorcock has spent the past fifty plus years recounting amid the varied realities of the Multiverse. This legacy changed the face of fantasy, spawned a generation of imitators, and has influenced everything from fiction, comics books, art, music, to movies.

Literally the creator of the Multiverse, Michael John Moorcock (1939- ) is a world reknowned British author and editor of almost 100 books in just about every genre. Moorcock, inducted into the Science Fiction Hall of Fame in 2002, has won numerous literary awards, including the Nebula, BSFA, Guardian Fiction Prize, August Derleth, John C. Campbell, British Fantasy Award, World Fantasy Award, was shortlisted for the Whitbred, and received lifetime achievement awards of both the World Fantasy Award and the French Prix Utopiales.

Other popular characters (usually versions of the Eternal Champion) Moorock chronicles in various series are Corum, Erekose, Von Bek, Jharek, Kane of Mars, Count Brass, Dorian Hawkmoon, and the ever-mysterious, postmodern icon Jerry Cornelius. These series chart the battles between Law and Chaos in the ever-shifting War of Cosmic Balance.

Come revel in the endless diversity and amazing creative genius of Michael Moorcock, perhaps the most influential fantasy writer alive. This is a place for the appreciation and study of Moorcock's writings.
