john[Allen Foley] here. I really felt a lot of good feelings at the
One Institute & Archives. Especially seeing Leonardo and Co.
there. I don't remember names well, as I had only been to the
one social Wed. dinner. ~ Having moved back to Los Angeles
for Eureka, Ca. recently.. But I needed to see and be with my
brothers. Not well known yet, but cherished, especially in such a
gathering together. A fine memory, a begining. The Best to all.

'Any "Turkey Faeries" out there? I'm wondering.
I'm one... I apologize for some missprints. Read closely. Hopefully I corrected any wrong dates associated with certain events.
Anyhoo, I hope you can join us for the many of these events to come. I'm very happy to say the other fine folks have been offering to host, co-host, and facilitate events for us Moon Circle types.
Erick's Harry Hay remembrance circle went like this.... First off it was an absolutely gorgeous day on Sunday. Erick and Cricket have quite a crib in a beautiful old Spanish apartment. They're gracious hosts who kept us entertained, fed, and watered. We sat just outside their window out on a breezeway patio where they have been culivating numerous cati and tropical plants making the surroundings perfectly grounding. Not to mention the "living" mats for table tops they grew from sprouting grains and other seeds. The cats loved to sniff around and lay about them too. I was also happy to see some familiar faces, Sp!ral and Ho ho, and some new faces. One Faerie from LA that I never knew existed and the venerable Coco Pierre from the EuroFaeries clan.... yes, Faeries are everywhere. I hope he sends us a picture.
Tonight, Wednesday, is the usual pot-luck social with a celebration for Fire Fox's birthday.
Whatever happens, have a great Thanksgiving! See some of ya real soon!

NOV. 24 -- SHARED TRIBAL MOMENT -- WORLDWIDE CALL ..... ***continued at end of email
Greetings Great and Wonderful Faerie Folk and Friends...
I normally don't send you email more than once a week but this is an important last minute call...
Our Friend Erick Pfaff is hosting a "SHARED TRIBAL MOMENT -- WORLDWIDE CALL" Membrance Circle celebrating the life of Harry Hay.
See you there, Matrix
Here's Erick's invite....
Subject: LA LA Harry rememberance circle
The Los Angeles rememberance circle will take place from 12:30PM - ?. I know this is a little early for some of us, but have no fear, exotic coffee drinks will be served. Maybe bring some brunch sweets if so inclined. I know many LA LA faes are at the cmg, so it'll be a small circle. Bring some friends. All are welcome.
We are at 6141 afton place #124.
Go down sunset one block east of vine to el centro turn right and go two blocks to Afton place . We are the big mission-style 1920's apt building on your left. Go up the front entrance and turn right go to end of terrace, thats where we'll be.
Oh yeah, we are trying to set up a live streaming web cam, so that people could join our circle remotely. I will post details, later (anybody know how to do this?)
Our beloved Harry Hay died on October 24th. It's impossible to put into words all of the things he will be remembered for -- the gifts that he gave us have changed our lives.
With a handful of others, he founded the Radical Faeries. He was a pioneer in gay rights at a time when such a movement was unknown, almost unthinkable in America. He was a visionary, who touched not only the way that we organize but the way that we think -- the way we come together in heart circle. He taught that as gay men we have a unique perspective on the world, based on relating to each other from a place of love, in "subject-subject consciousness." Harry taught us to love ourselves and each other.
WE HERE AND NOW CALL A WORLDWIDE GATHERING OF THE TRIBE FOR A CELEBRATION OF THE LIFE AND WORK OF HARRY HAY. THIS IS A SHARED MOMENT ACROSS THE PLANET IN WHICH WE CAN SEE THAT WE, INDEED, ARE A PEOPLE -- A PEOPLE OF MAGIC, POWER, AND FAERIE DUST.
Here's how it works: On November 24 in the Americas and Europe (November 25 in Asia and Australia) we ask people to gather around the world simultaneously, create sacred space, and meditate on Harry's life. This will take place one day after the memorial service for Harry in San Francisco.
If you are part of a faerie circle or community, please come together with friends in one of your usual gathering places. If it's difficult for you to join with others, then join us in meditation from your home, work, forest, or some place you find sacred.
Our vision is to have a moment of silence simultaneously across the globe. Following the moment of silence, people will read a quotation (see the end of this message), then share love in whatever way each person or community chooses -- whether it be in heart circle, dancing, singing, writing, painting, sculpting, organizing, making sweet love, or any other expression of faerie humanity.
We will gather in Portland, Oregon, Seattle and San Francisco on November 24, and start the moment of silence at 1 pm. This means that you lovely faeries on the east coast (U.S.) would hold silence at 4 pm. Sweet faeries in the U.K. have silence at 9 pm; beautiful German faeries have silence at 10 pm, etc. If you're in Sidney, Australia, you'll have to get up early on November 25 and meet in time for silence at 7 am -- but we hope some intrepid souls will do exactly that.
It is difficult finding the perfect time so we can resonate across the globe at the same moment, but worth the effort. We offer special gratitude to those in locations where the time difference requires sacrifice of work-hours or sleep. If it's impossible to participate at the appointed time, do the best that you can -- and PLEASE let us know what you did!
It's important to keep a record of people who remember Harry -- or benefit from his work. **Please send e-mail** to remember@... with your memory, anecdote, or Harry Hay story!
For all who participate in this historic moment, a list of your stories, prayers and memories will be compiled and put together on a special web site, http://www.radfae.org/harry/worldwide.memorial (including your addresses if you wish). We will send your name for publication in RFD as a "card" in commemoration of Harry's life and this Global celebration of faeriedom. Please include your name, e-mail address, city or place, the time of remembrance (no matter when it took place), a description of who was with you, what you did, and what you remember. Please write so that others will know who we are (individually and as a tribe), where we live, and how Harry's work touched us. If e-mail is not appropriate in your circumstances, send notes, photos or anything you want archived to Camp Babycakes; 3611 NE 57th Street; Seattle, Washington 98105 USA
Please join us in a worldwide celebration of love and remembrance.
With love, in community,
Danzante Scotty Dog Damien Randy-in-All-Worlds Quercus -------------------------

This is a very cool site on shrine making and other stuff:
http://www.abm.ndirect.co.uk/leftside/actives/shrine.htm
You will see a lot of reference to the Buddha figure.. for Faeries, this is
wide open... Your Buddha could be anything, if anything!
The following about a Buddhist shrine serves only as a reference.
You may make your shrine as you feel, creating it with what speaks to you.
The shrine is the main focus point for most group - and usually individual -
worship. Western Theravadin shrines tend to be quite plain and, although
many Asian shrines may look more colourful and complex, they generally
contain the same basic elements. As various Buddhist themes and symbols are
explored and developed a shrine can be the place where many of your finished
craft projects can be placed.
The main elements on the shrine are: The Buddha image, Candles, Incense,
Saints, Sacred objects

Hi Everybody!
Matrix here dropping into your email mailbox to let you know about a plethora of things that are happening.
Please see below for detailed information on four events: WEDNESDAY NIGHT SOCIAL STARLAND "MASSAGE WEEKEND" HEART CIRCLE MIKE'S HOUSE WARMING
If you like bread making or are considering learning how then you are sure to enjoy the next Bread making class in a series of at least two offered by Michael, who by the way has invited us to his new abode for a House Warming Party and "Italian Buffet", and who has been making his incredible loaves and pastry delights for many of the Moon Circle get togethers.
We've also got great trips to Starland. Join us this weekend for the "Massage Weekend". Food's included along with free hot tub use for a low fee of $35 for the entire weekend! There's an actual itinerary too. If you liked Starland before, you're going to like it even more since over this past year, myself and others have been very busy refurbishing and renovating the "retreat". There's a newly finished shower room with hot and cold running water, a luxury cabin and a couple RV trailers to stay in. (Cabin/RV upgrades only $10 more for an entire weekend).
Hey, what are you doing for Halloween? Don't want to be spirited away by the crowds in West Hollywood? Then come hang out with us, your friends, where it's warm and friendly! We'll have even more fun than a drag queen dragging her heels on asphalt.
Visit the web links to the Moon Circle and Starland web site for more complete details on any of these events and happenings. Starland: www.starlandretreat.com Moon Circle: www.mooncircle.net

"Well, My Bacchanal Day was an incredible day thanks to all of you. I have to say it was an experience to sit back and have people give to me. I am not use to that.

Please know my home is open and feel free to call and hang.
Warm Thoughts Randy"

BOWEN RANCH is a privately owned campground where we can park, pitch tents,
and create a "Faerie Village". Our camping area on the "ranch" is so private
and the ranch is so "cool" that we can truly "be ourselves". That means
nudity is optional and you can be as "fae" as you want! I personally like
this option. At our "Faerie Village" we can sleep, cook our own meals, and
enjoy a nightly campfire. Sometimes Faerie magic happens! Drumming, naked
dancing around the campfire, and more!

DEEP CREEK is a two mile hike away from Bowen Ranch. We usually take a daily
trip down to the creek and hot Springs beginning in the morning and return
later in the day. We make a "day" of it by bringing snacks for lunch and a
towel or whatever to lounge on. The whole hike is really a scenic beauty and
breath-taking when you finally see the springs area. There's nothing like
it! Down at the hot springs you can hang out, hike, bask in the sun, soak in
one of the hot springs, cover yourself with mud, have lunch, cruse, and
whatever. At the creek it's more public but clothing is still optional and
the people are pretty cool. Anything goes just respect the land and the
environment.

Note from Roy....
Hey Leo,
I am driving up to my ranch this Thursday morning (26th), then picking up my
trailer and going to a gay RV rally at the California Delta for the weekend
(includes a charter bus trip to the Folsom Street Fair). My best friend was
going to accompany me but at the last minute he has to work and can't get
away. I wanted to ask the group if anyone wanted to take his place with me
for the trip. I'm leaving the Delta on Monday 30th, back in LA late Mon
night or early Tues. The fees are all paid so it would be a free trip
(except for food on the road). The rally fee includes food and bus trip to
the fair on Sunday. Transpo plans are flexible since I'm off work and can
accomodate someone's schedule. I do need to be at the delta Fri nite to get
my campsite.
I know you all have a Deep Creek trip planned but I figured I'd throw the
offer out there anyway in case anuone's feeling extra adventurous!

I had a marvelous time in Spain and Portugal. I recommend them. I
will try to put some pics of my trip on this site.
Last social at Leonardo's was a feast. He and Micheal threw together
a grand vegatarian feast and were smiling about it the whole time. I
could see they were happy to be giving...
As for me, I must have slept half the time I was there. That took me
by surprise. I hope no one took offense. Leonardo seems to actually
be flattered by it. With all the deep, friendly voices that I hear, I
must feel very safe and at home and, if tired, will nod right off.
Well, I'll take a stab at those pictures.
Love you all,

Hi Guys!
I spent last weekend at Starland, boy is it nice out there. It wasn't too
hot.. for the desert. The thing is it's quite comfortable in the the indoor
spaces due to the great swamp coolers, those are "evaporative coolers".
Hiking during the day was very pleasant. At night I spent many hours just
soaking in the outdoor hot tub with friends and looking at the stars. It is
sooooo nice there at night.
I hope some of you can join us this weekend for another round.

one word... BACCHANALIA

of costume making, decorating, cooking, and organizing.

toasting and "roasting" our guest of honor while feasting on wine and a
sumptuous BB-Q. What revelry will have we!
So come, step forward and help this event to pay homage to a "Bacchus" type
guy who gives us so much all the time, Randy Fuhrman.
The date is set for October 6th Sunday, the New Moon at Randy's. More

VOLUNTEERing at Starland went really well last weekend. Trey from Palm
Springs joined us as did Tom from LA. Trey has been working on the 'Vista
Arroyo Cabin", complete with sink and toilette. It's the "honey moon suite"!
Tom helped me to finally get the drywall up in the ceiling of a second
cabin. The "shower room" is up and functioning with four shower heads and
two sinks. After our hard work in the sun we treated ourselves to a tastey
communal dinner. Then we hung around the spa naked under the stars. 'Nothing
like a desert summer night.

Meet us at the Northwest corner of the parking lot that is north of the

Greetings, hello, shalom, aloha.......
Ooo... it's warming up.
'Headed for our hotest part of the year, we are. When this parts over we can
all look forward to a great Deep Creek trip at the end of September when it
will still be hot but not blazing, supposedly.
Anyhow, lots of little stuff to do around here in the mean time.....
The "Hot Water" New Moon event, Night of Healing was attended by up to 13
people. We did two healings.
Many, many thanks to all those who were present and those who contributed
greatly for the healing of two men who are extremely grateful.
It took presence, kindness, openness, and only about $12.50 to $15.00 from
each person to pay for the pool heating cost and other expenses for our
gracious host Randy Fuhrman. "Big Ups" all the way around. You can read a
little bit about that particular New Moon event on this web page as well as
about other past New Moon events. The New Moon event page:

HEART CIRCLE.... this month will be at the beach again in Santa Monica.
'Very easy to do. Got any of your favorite "sand rituals"? Last month I
suggested that the guys bring "snacks".. well, they kicked ass in the
"snacks" department and brought a spread no one could believe.. no, no,
they wouldn't just settle for "snacks". Anyhow, I won't have any
expectations this time one way or the other, but who knows what can happen
when Faeries whack themselvs in the head with those big floppy wings! Did
you get a chance to read about the last Full Moon Faerie Heart Circle at the
beach... you can read all about on this web page:
http://www.radfae.org/mooncircle/HeartCircle.html and you can get more info
and maps for the next one.
VOLUNTEER at Starland... I'll be going to Starland this weekend to volunteer
work on the cabins and such. You're welcome to join me. Just let me know.
HELP MOVING... Also I'll be helping our friend Crow, the Bread Man, move
into his new place in the Eagle Rock area on August 24 about 12 noon. We
just need one or two guys to help unload the truck, that's all. After that
you can go to the Sunset Junction Street Fair in Silver Lake that is
happening that weekend.
SUNSET JUNCTION STREET FAIR...Speaking of which, would you like to get a
Junction Street Fair party together? It's a really great fair,
multi-cultural, great food, lots of entertainment (three stages!), and it's
just a great public spectacle. Lots of gay and straight mingling in complete
"outness" and harmony.
See more information at bottom of this email.
So other than all that. I'm working steadily, paying off my bills... gonna
get that big ole Faerie space!

Hi Guys
Happy Monday!
This Wednesday there will a "Casual Social as usual....
but now here's something totally different.
For the next New Moon Event this Thursday I'd like to get a poll of how many
would interested a special night that involved floating in a very warm
swimming pool for a special healing offering. There is one available but I
would need to have a commitment from a certain number of people.
The night would cost us collectively about $150 to pay the heating and other
cost . That means that we'd need either 10 people committing to pay $15
each or less money if more people committed to sharing the total cost. For
example, 20 people would only need to pay $7.50 each and so on.
So how many are interested?
If I get an immediate response then we could do it for this Thursday.
Otherwise we can do it another night next month.
So let me know as soon as possible. I'll need to know by Tuesday evening to
reserve this spot at a nice house in Hollywood.
If not this event will take place at my home. See details below under
"Events".
That's it for now.
The next Full Moon Faerie Heart Circle will be again at the Santa Monica
Beach. After talking with a few people about whether we'd take the Heart
Circle to "Dock Weiler"? Beach in Marina Del Rey where there are fire pits
it's been decided that though it would be a rad location, it didn't seem
safe, exactly. Gangs have been reported there as well other rowdy
happenings. Santa Monica is by far a safer place which is heavily patrolled
by the Beach Patroll which doesn't mind our presence. So sorry if it seems
disappointing to those who may have expected to go to the Marina. We will
have a good time at Santa Monica.
Be well. Until we see each other again,
lotsa love, Leonardo...

Howdy all you beautiful Faes!
I just wanted to recommend a book to y'all. I've just started it
(just finished chapter 3) and I think it's incredible so far. It is
called "The Soul Beneath the Skin" by David Nimmons. Basicly, he is
writing about how the gay community is changing society by the
experiments we're currently working in our own gay societies. The
Rad Fays are briefly mentioned so far, but I think he'll go deeper
into it as the Caretaker aspects seems to be a focus of a later
chapter.
Love you all,
Willow

Yawwwwwnn~~! Good Morning. 'Up all Night... what the hell
'Major FULL MOON tonight... which just so happens to fall on a Wednesday
night when I normally do a "Wednesday Night Social" at my house.
This time for the full moon, the "Full Moon Faerie Heart Circle" is going to
the beach this evening.
Visit this URL: http://www.radfae.org/mooncircle/HeartCircle.html or check
out the details below in the "EVENTS" section of this email.
Introducing this "Rad" little internet site at Yahoo Groups...
MOONCIRCLEFAERIES · MOON CIRCLE LOS ANGELES RADICAL FAERIES!
Now you don't have to wait for me to put stuff on the web for you.
You can do it yourself... and if you still have trouble I'll be glad to
help.
So now I am inviting you to join a Yahoo Group with many features like being
able to post your own events at a communal calendar, post pictures, start a
discussion, take polls, and more.
Please visit mooncirclefaeries • Moon Circle Los Angeles Radical Faeries at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mooncirclefaeries/
You may also subscribe to the Yahoo Group for Moon Circle simply by sending
an email to mooncirclefaeries-subscribe@yahoogroups.com TIP: remember to use
an email address where you don't mind getting a few more emails.
There is a little bit of a screening process since it's a private group,
only for folks that Moon Circle "knows" Thus this allows you to post more
intimate information in case you want to post addresses or phone #'s. If you
need help joining, just ask. You can write to me at
helpmewithyahoo@...
I can add you to the Yahoo Moon Circle group. Just let me know the email
address you want to use for the subscription at that Yahoo Group for Moon
Circle.
This doesn't affect your regular weekly email from Moon Circle but be aware
that I will be sending the weekly Moon Circle email to the Yahoo Group for
Moon Circle as well. You will probably get two identical emails from Moon
Circle weekly depending how you choose to receive email from the Yahoo Group
for Moon Circle. If this is too many you can choose to receive email from
only one or the other.
See ya at the beach!

HEART CIRCLE at the BEACH! Read this carefully so you'll know where we
are.... it's not hard, I promise.
JULY 24th Wednesday 6:00 PM
http://www.radfae.org/mooncircle/HeartCircle.html See a map and other
helpful links here or ask for a map by email.
(310) 278-8046 HeartAtBeach@...
Meet us at 6:00 PM down on the beach at the NORTH side of the parking lot
that is NORTH of the Santa Monica Pier. We'll hang out for a while there
waiting for you all to gather.
We'll do a little ritual to honor the Full Moon with a bowl, water, and the
moon's reflection.
Moon-lit festivities include a HEART CIRCLE. You may want to bring snacks,
drums, poetry, what have you, and appropriate apparel for a possibly cool
night.
The Heart Circle has a way of bonding and connecting minds, hearts, bodies
and souls. It can't be explained but it is felt. It's for us to hear and to
listen to each other in a sacred and safe queer male-only space.
I look forward to seeing you all here for feasting, sharing, bonding,
meeting of new friends, and seeing old friends.
PARKING at this parking lot should not be too difficult.
From westbound Interstate 10 Santa Monica freeway, take the 4th/5th Street
exit and stay to the right. Turn right onto 5th Street. Turn left onto
Colorado Avenue (first signal). Continue west to Ocean Avenue. The Pier is
straight ahead. To park, turn left onto Ocean Avenue, then right onto
Seaside Terrace (just past the traffic signal). At the stop sign, turn right
onto Appian Way and continue to the large parking lot serving Santa Monica
Pier. For additional parking, turn left on Appian Way or continue straight
to reach lots serving the Beaches. Look for the blue signs.
You may find other parking else where and walk down to the beach. If you
don't know where the Santa Monica pier is just take Colorado Blvd. to the
end.
Then we'll take a little hike further North up the beach a few hundred yards
to a place less trafficked.
Once there we can enjoy ourselves in the twilight of sunset and the rising
full moon. Control your urge to HOWL, not!
