As we have been celebrating the 30th anniversary of the first national
faerie gathering, many feel this is a good time to contemplate the Heart Circle. While not uniquely a rad fae experience, heartcircles
are the mode through which we communicate our thoughts and feelings
while in community, whether at a gathering, in someone's living room,
or at the local community center. One may argue that being in heart circle is what defines being a radical faerie.
We are calling out to our communities across this globe and asking for writings about the Heart
Circle. We are asking for articles of any length to share experiences,
insights and stories about this process which is paradoxically our most
intimate and simultaneously most public method of human relating. We
are interested in ALL aspects of circling to have a critically honest
discussion = what works? what doesn't work?
What do you love about heartcircles? Why do you HATE them? How do they work best for you? When have they moved your spirit, or caused you to fall asleep? Do heartcircles
scare you? Is it difficult for you to speak in front of others? Do
you feel trapped in a dynamic of having to listen to others' baggage ad
infinitum? Are you too cool to sit in a heart circle? What is the future for heartcircles in the faerie community?
Submit your writings to submissions@.... If you have ideas about writing, but fear the process, send an email to the same address = we can help!
We're also looking for photos and artwork for RFD's pages...please send your photos and drawings.

In honor of Gay Spirituality and in devotion to Antinous the Gay God. The Temple of Antinous will hold a Candle Light Procession, Friday, October 30th at 7:30 pm In West Hollywood.
Antinous the Gay God is the deified Lover of the Roman Emperor Hadrian. After Antinous drowned in the Nile River, He was proclaimed a God, and a religion was inaugurated in his name. Hadrian founded a sacred city in his honor on October 30th in the year 130 CE.
The Gay Religion of Antinous represents the sacredness of Homosexuality through beauty and youth. We pray for equality, for eternal love and for the protection of all gay people who suffer persecution and death everywhere in the world.
The procession will begin at West Hollywood Park near Robertson Blvd and end at Mathew Sheppard square at the corner of Santa Monica and Crescent Heights. After the procession, a ceremony will be held at a private location. Among the highlights of the ceremony will be the consecration of a number of Gay Saints including Judy Garland, Divine, Hans Christian Anderson and Alan Turing. Gay and non-gay people of all faiths are invited to attend. Bring a candle and a heart full of love.
Please join us in Celebration of Gay Spirituality Through Antinous the Gay God
Friday, October 30th 2009 7:30 PM at West Hollywood Park Near Robertson Blvd
Me too I would love to make the next faerie gathering

Fellow fae folk far and near,
Hi. I’m Osiris, a faerie living in L.A. I’m currently looking for faeries of all stripes and polka dots in the Los Angeles area. After many years of asking: “where are the faeries here?” I’ve decided to find us. We’ve already started building a community. At dinner Tuesday, we met with a handful of faeries from the first gathering at Wolf Creek 30 years ago. Among the group was Don Kilhefner and Mark Thompson. They’re working on a wonderful project of faerie essays. But I digress.
I know this is uber-last minute, but please forward this to any LA faeries you know. We are having our tomorrow morning! (I know, I know ...) If even one person comes by faerie magic, it’s worth putting out there. <g>
LA Radical Faerie Redux Meetup Saturday, September 12 at 10:00am MudSPOT Coffee shop NW corner of La Brea and Wilshire
And even if they don’t get it before tomorrow, it’s all good. Beyond tomorrow, we are gathering ourselves with Facebook (LARadicalFaerieRedux) and Meetup (www.meetup.com/radicalfaeries). That’s the best way at the moment to keep up with what we’re up to. Shortly, we’ll be starting regular heart circles at each other’s homes. Anyone is also more than welcome to contact me at either by email or by phone — 323.202.7042.
Please spread the word. Please send us lots of white faerie magic. Thank you for being there.

Hello to all
Greetings to all
Stephanos here worshiper of Antinous the Gay God
thanks for having me in this great group
Dear faeries,
I'm writing with the news that Walter Lear, faerie name Tuffolbird,
elder and Patri/Matriarch of the Philadelphia Faeries, will be
entering hospice care on Saturday, August 22, 2009. He is 86 years
old.
Walter brought together some of the first faeries (in our modern
incarnation) in Philadelphia, and has been a steady facilitator and
supporter of our faerie circle. He has also been a very active
Eurofaerie, both at Terschelling and at Folleterre. He was featured
on the cover of the RFD Philly Faerie Supplement. He is definitely of
the lineage of Walt Whitman.
I'm writing to let you know that he is entering hospice in case you
wish to send an email of greeting or acknowledgment. I will read all
emails to him and pass on your love and support. Please put
Tuffolbird in the subject line so that I can easily spot your email.
If you are not a fan of email and wish to send a written letter to
him, you can forward it to me at:

I will bring the letters to him unopened.

Hello Cmen afiliates
This is Matrix giving a hollar....
I'm need of a hook-up for an out door massage table... no, right, NOT a massage,
but the table...
here's what I need...
I need it to be sturdy
outdoor -doesn't have to collapse... can be permanent -weather resistant.
un-used... new
and sort of trick or "hi-tech." -fancy!
I'm in a bind and I need a good connection to get two of them... I'm short of
money, but if you like to give a gift to someone I can provide a very cool water
feature or awesome discount on outdoor construction...
We build swimming pools, remodel pools, build spas, and all types of
hardscapes... BB-Q islands, fire-pits, lay flagstone and other custom stone
work... block walls, retainer walls, etc... we can do anything...
Have a look at www.everythingwet.com ... seriously!

PS, if you know of any great resources for buying out door massage tables...
passing that info to me would be greatly appreciated.

RFD is celebrating the thirtieth anniversary of the first national radical faerie gathering in Benson, AZ in 1979. We are calling to the community at large to reflect on this pivotal moment - it's genesis, impact and fall out in our lives and in the world around us. We are calling for articles that include but are not limited to these ideas:
What were you doing 30 years ago regarding gay liberation and spiritual consciousness
Were you at the Arizona gathering? How was it? How did you hear about it? How did it affect your life?
If you didn't make it - did you hear about it, what dish did you hear? How did hearing others tales about the gathering impact you?
When reflecting on the stories we tell about the Rad Fae movement / community, is the Arizona gathering part of that history or hagiography?
How do we approach the history of our movement when many people impacted that movement before or after the Arizona gathering?
How has the Rad Fae movement's accomplishments and gifts impacted the world around us in these thirty years?
How do you think the history of your regional group should be told in the context of the Arizona gathering?
Bambi will be working on coordinating this issue with the help of many others across the country and we would love to hear from other folks intertested in helping with this issue.
If you are interested in submitting articles, ideas, images or artifacts for this issue please write to submissions@... with "radfae30" in the subject line! Awesome.. OK... not "exciting" like an action/adventure movie, but really cool
and nice to chit-chat with old friends. We never even played any of the games
David brought. Everybody brought nice snaks. We chate about "stuff" like
relationships, kids plight in school, movies, doing a "Movie Night," celebrating
a birthday, blah blah... whatever.
It was just fucking pleasant!
Next week we can actually play games... it doesn't matter that much I think,
just having community in anyway.
We are neighbors, friends...
More later on birthdays.
Today, before Game Night, I spent the whole day in Hollywoood Hills working with
the company for a client who co-wrote "21." Can you guess who that is? I arose
this morning at about 4AM to prepare to pick up guy# 1 so we could drive out to
Clairmont to pick up some black and blue cement dye which we had to deliver to
the job site. Today is "Pebble-Tec" day for the gunite spa we built. We also had
to prepare the spa for the Pebble finishers. This consist of cutting and
trimming the jet outlets to accommodate the jet fittings, some 24 or so in
all... this is a huge spa! Having accomplished that, the finishers applied the
Pebble-Tec with some blue glass agregate. They did a supurb job and the spa
looks gerrrrr-ate. We're almost finished except we have yet to install the
circulation, filtartion, and heating system. There is also the three 2HP pumps
to install to give the 26 jets their umph.
Oooo bonking.. time tp go hit the sack.
Chat me in the morning... I'm not working officially Sunday.. I'll sleep-in
'till 6AM as a treat to myself, then attack the kitchen continuing to
re-organize me kitchen.
Grab me for a distraction if you like... get a two-pump soy mocha at Starbucks.
'Love the first hot sips.
Then I get to go back, ly on me luxurious couch and watch TV or videos all day
on the rest of the day.
Watch for Moon Circle Calendar additions.
Peace, Matrix
Anyway.. ‘twas a nice evening… David and Richard showed
up… Richard led us thru a meditation session with some breathing exercises.
Then we had vegetarian sushi, Indian rice with mung
beans, Banana bread, and baked chicken. Lots of talking about
spirituality and relationships gone/going sour. Anybody know what that’s
about?
I look forward to a game night…
perhaps this weekend… I’ll let you know.
I am without partner for two weeks, Geppetto’s gone to Florida. Have a good week… I’m reorganizing my kitchen
tomorrow, then back to the salt mines this week….
You can’t tell, but there’s
water also dribbling out the top of the pillars… we built all this stuff…
Creative contracting is so cool!

Hey ya...
How'd I miss this message... 'great idea.
I'm working on a little get together at my place in Los Angels. I have a friend
who wants to present a teaching on meditation, about 90 minutes from about six
O-clock on a Saturday... I'll announce the exact date later. We'll also do a
non-mandatory pot-luck. My friend will bring some "real" East Indian
food, he just happens to be Indian.
As for outings, I'm totally down for that ... that means "yes." A
trip to the museum would be great. There are so many great things to see. ...
more on all this later, Matrix
