On then NPR show Here and Now, Origami was on for about 8 minutes. The link has many internal links. http://www.hereandnow.org/2009/12/origami-masters/ There is one by Michael LaFosse showing how to make a dollar X wallet.
I actually sat in the car in a parking lot to hear all of it before going in to do shopping. Yes,
I could have waited to listen on line, but I just had to listen!
Thank you for the response. Any help you can offer is most appreciated!

If Won Park gives me permission, I could look through my files for partial step-photos I took while folding a toilet with Won. I think I did one more toilet after that night, just to see if I could. But it's never been a model I've been particularly interested in, so I haven't looked at it (or the photos) again. The photos are incomplete, as directions.
For those of you who have iPhones, there is a new dollar bill origami app called Origami Star which shows you how to make a 5-pointed star using dollar bills from six different countries (USA, Canada, Mexico, Japan, China, and Euro).
Origami instructions is clear and easy enough for those who are familiar with dollar bill folding. App itself is visually stunning and very well done.
Hey I'm new to the group and I joined because I want to fold a bunch of
different fish for my dad for Christmas so he can have a bowl of fish to display
in his office at work. I have found the video that shows how to fold the Koi by
Won Park and I am now looking for instructions on any of his other fish. I
really like the Marlin, the Hammer-head Shark, and the Dolphin. If anybody can
help direct me to some instructions for these or for any other sea creatures I
would greatly appreciate it.
I, too folded a toilet with Won at last years OUSA convention--out of that 2-3 day whirlwind of a convention it was the only time we could hook up to fold, that being Sunday evening during the breakdown phase of the vendor rooms.
I didn't want to slow him down so I forwent taking step fold pix. I rather like the model.

Does anyone have the diagram for the Dollar Bill Camera by Won Park? It would be much appreciated
Hi There - to the left of the screen you see a light green highlighted area -
Click on the "FILES" - that is where the diagram for the camera and the Koi are
located - have a great day folding.

Kewl. Looking over this list (even with 700 missing), it's impressive how many
different models there's been over the decades. If I have one suggestion for
your corrected list, it'd be to have your Excel cells do a 'wrap text' inside of
them, to make it easier to see all the words inside the cells without guessing
at what they are just by looking at them.

Attached please find an excel file that all can open. Thanks for your
support!...and for some reason that I have yet to figure out (because I just
haven't spent any time on it ) the file is missing over 700 models. Maybe this
weekend I'll try another export from File Maker Pro and get a better sampling.

I got it to work just fine:
Copy his XML file to your desktop (or to a folder).
Open the Excel Application.
Under File, open ALL Files and select the XML file on the desktop.
Russ’s database should now show up as a sortable and searchable spreadsheet.
The functions on a PC and on a Mac are a little different.
This may not work with an older version of Excel which cannot understand XML.
Lemme know if this doesn’t work for you. If you can open the XML file with Excel, but can’t manipulate it, then that is a different technical question, so please be detailed about the problems. Also, do NOT click on the XML file to open it; it is easiest to open it from within Excel.
The data that was sent is in the form of an Excel spreadsheet. You can scroll down using the down arrow keys on your keyboard or you can use the Find function by depressing the control key and the letter F and then type in the model that you want to see like pelican and press enter. Excell will take to to the first usage of that word. Some times the first occurance might be in the middle of another word or if your lucky it will land on the mother load of entries. Once you are there, you can scroll down and glance over at the book tile or the author or the page that it's found within that book. If you want see only models that are made using currency do the following:
1 ) mouse around to you get to the top of the spreadsheet and click on the cell A1
2 ) Looking at the top menu bar click on the title DATA
3 ) Click on Filter
4 ) click on AUTOFILTER
you should see inverted black diamonds next to each of the header titles.
click on the black diamond of header "TYPE" and you'll see a abbreviated list of words.
Here is the complete listing:
amph - amphibians
anl - animal
avi - avaition
basic - traditional with a twist. A bit of discussion on this one. My collection, though not as big as others dates back to 1863 and goes to the present. As such, I can generally trace back models and have a real good idea as to who first published what. The plagerism is rampant and as a published author myself I have gone to great lengths to, at least for my own database, make every attempt to give proper credit or originality...even though it would seem that almost everything that is pre- 1970 has its roots with Akira Yoshizawa. So "true" traditional is so old that I can't trace it back...but that's just me.
blg - building or house structure
brd - birds
fsh - fish (for the sake of entry I included whales or porpoise, etc.)
fur - furniture (household furnishings)
hat - hats
hum - human being (must be "whole" figures" or else they're classified as sculptures (scl)
ins - insects
m/p - mythological and prehistoric (In used John Montrolls' idea here)
mdl - modular (think inlcudes anything that uses multiple pieces of paper)
mon - money or currency msk - masks
mus - musical instruments
orn - ornaments (see also scl for sculptures; the delineation is most difficult fo me here)
pla - plants, bushes and trees
pod - arachi's and all 8 legged (or more) critters which don't fly
rep - reptiles
s/m - snails, mullusks
scl - sculpture (see also ornaments...orn)
shp - ships or boats
toy - generally animated but could be "others" as well
w - water (things in the water that aren't fish)
...so to finish my thought above, to find all of the 329 models made using currency, select "mon" after you've selected the Autofilter and there you have it. Of course each row or record has the book title and the page it's found on along with the author (if known).
Please let me know if you have any difficulty looking stuff up.
I still don't know why this listing, which I have included, is missing over 700 records but at this hour I'm not going to try and figure that out. I hope you enjoy the "database".
...My appologies for any typos or syntax errors.
Best Regards,
Russ Weaver

Has anyone managed to operate Russ Weaver's database? If so, please instruct the group on how to do so.

I picked up $200 worth of fresh singles today. I believe, as I think others
suggested, that this is the time of year when banks have brand new singles.
Harder to obtain as the year wears on, after Christmas.
For those koi-folding, a reminder (can't remember if it's been mentioned or if
it's in the diagrams) that if you want the eyes to look even, you have to check
that the borders on the top and bottom of the dollar bill on the green side, are
even. If it's been cut so that one border is thinner than the other, the
printing that gives the semblance of eyes will not look symmetrical.

Anyone who wants to fold the dragon badly enough could either take a trip out to
Hawaii; or offer to pay his plane fare and tuition fee.
Or...
You could come to Los Angeles and join WCOG 2nd week of December for our annual
library Christmas tree decorating and perhaps sweet talk Fred into teaching it.
He's been folding the dragon (although personalizing it with influence from
Kamiya's ancient dragon) and was teaching it to 2 or 3 folders at this month's
library meeting.
Won gave him some tips on how to do it when Won taught at the POP meeting in
LA, earlier this year (the one where we took advantage of his time out here and
filmed the folding of the koi). Fred figured out much of it on his own (I think
he's subscribed to the Group, here).
I folded one at my first OUSA back in 2002 or 2003; but I'll be damned if I let
even Fred reverse engineer it!

Once again for all you people who keep asking for Won Park diagrams for certain models: The vast majority of his work has not been diagramed. See the message archive for a very recent list of what has been diagrammed of his models. The 2 dollar dragon is not among them.
Stephen Weiss (not on this list) has a dollar bill cat that has been published in Jeremy Shafer's BARF magazine (Bay Area Rapid Folders) as well in ORIGAMI USA publications-- I think an annual edition although I forget the year. It looks Lion like, but is a cat.
