Having found the Las Vegas Monorail has their annual budgets and tax forms
available on their site, I began to wonder if HRT made the same kind of
information available to the public, so I went poking around their site. They
do. It isn't pretty.

They are actually PROUD that their income is 23% of their outgo.
In particular, the Crossroads service (commuter connections between the cities)
cost more than 10 times the fares generated.
This looks ripe for some sort of rail (read monorail) system to replace the
Crossroads service (now part of the MAX system) at a lower cost. Can we come up
with a proposal to provide 62,000 hours of service at a better price than $54.00
per hour? I think we can.
