Work on the Porch Project continues.
October 4 WORK DAY

	 Next Information Session, with optional dinner ($3/person, call at
	 least 3 days ahead , 952-930-7554 to make a reservation) and
	 tours
	 Dinner 6:30 pm
	 Discussion 6:30 pm

October 12 - 7pm - Sharing Evening
	 Not a talent show, but sharing, 15 minutes per person (so it
can't be too much).  there have been wonderful. Sharing has ranged
from original writing, classical music, folk songs, reading of Winnie
the Pooh, teaching the Macarena, telling stories of our past, how our
1924 toilets work, dressing process of a kimono, etc. etc., etc.


To those of you who have attended a dinner/Information Session, if you

We (Fred Olson and Becca Brackett and 2 other households along with
several cooperating households) have been doing community building, sort
of using the "retrofit cohousing model" in North Minneapolis for some
time.  It just happens that a house has come up for sale adjacent to one
of our group.

The house is actually across the alley from Fred and Becca just north of
our dear female neighbor "Sam" Nygren.

I do not know the asking price - it is listed with Edina Realty
and more information may be available via their automated system at
952-858-5858  listing number: 40982  (No information was available yet a
few minutes ago.)

August 6   National Night Out Potluck, 6:30-8:30 p.m.  If your
neighborhood isn't doing this, consider joining us. Bring something to
grill and something to share.

More work on the Porch Project.  No dates as yet.  The Stoop is almost
done, the opening for the Gas Fireplace is built, lots of insulating
and trimming is done.

Otherwise, a quiet month at Monterey Cohousing.

Saturday, June 16---Art Fair
Monterey Cohousing invites the public to an all day Art Show and Sale.
Displays, demonstrations and videos for all the family scheduled
throughout the day (water-color, sumi-E, sculpture and clay modeling,
woodworking, photography, needlework and quilting, etc. Multi-media
exhibit and sale by MoCoCo Kid's Klub. Artists and craft persons from
outside also may apply to display/sell their products (on Commission).

to add to the mix. Location is Tapestry, 3748 Minnehaha Ave. just North
of 38th St. Optional Potluck-5pm, Monterey Dance-6pm. Stay for the
Tapestry dance at 8 p.m., (Probably a contra,), if you like. May be a
small charge.

Saturday, April 28. 7:30pm. Monterey Presents... Hope for a Sustainable
World? A Monterey Cohousing member talks about some of the ideas she has
been investigating for the past few years. For example, sustainability
is not the same as environmentalism. You will hear some wonderful
stories and some ideas about priorities for individual actions. This
informal presentation is intended for older children and adults.  A
break for refreshments is included. RSVP (call 952-922-5125) is
appreciated, but not required.
