It is with sadness that I inform you of the passing of Len Weis, one of the founders of Minnesota Rovers. Len was a member of a similar outdoors activity club at his undergraduate university (I believe MIT) He came to the U of M for graduate studies, and was one of several enthusiasts who founded Rovers in the Fall of 1954. The club was an important introduction to outdoor activities through which many of us learned to love the outdoors. Len was active right up to the end: he sat down to rest after an exercise class and slipped away. Locating him for the 50th Reunion several years ago went slowly until, having supper with a good friend I discovered with great surprise that he was her father! We can all be thankful for Len's part in founding Rovers and introducing us to outdoor activities.
