The MKR Society's 23rd Annual Conference will convene in the Spring of 2010 in St. Augustine, Florida. Details TBD. PLAN TO BE THERE!

The Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Society celebrates the life and work of the author of such widely-read and respected books as The Yearling and Cross Creek. We cordially invite the public to join the Society and this email group, to post, and to visit our Society's website at:

PHOTO: In honor of MKR's birthday on Friday - 8-8-08, Society member Wanda Duncan invited a group of her literary friends for dinner to celebrate.The Watermelon Cake shown here was served for dessert. YUM! Wanda wrote: "I bought 'clean' Spanish moss and placed it down the center of the dining room table, and placed my MKR books and articles around the house. I used old-fashioned wooden clothespins (without the springs!) as napkin rings, (a la The Sisters' Tea House in Orange Park). Delius's Florida Suite and a PowerPoint show of Cross Creek photos played in the background. My children think I am bonkers, but my friends are already expecting the 2nd annual MKR party in August 2009." (photo by Wanda Duncan.)
