Hello dancers!

Thanks for making SET NIGHT such fun! By popular demand, here is
the playlist.

We color-coded the "game" sets on the white board, alternating
between red and blue markers. Here the sets will just be numbered.
We also had "transition" dances that counted for BOTH neighboring
sets. (For example, Eilat fits in both warm-up set 2 and game set
1.) On the white board, the transition dances were in purple, but
here they will appear in CAPS in case some people receive this
email in a format that doesn't show font colors.

The "game" sets were split into "initial" sets (1-10 below)
and "challenge" sets (11-15 below). The initial sets were hopefully
a little easier. The challenge sets, well, that should be obvious.

I'll post the answers in a couple of days. We'll give you two hints.
First, the answer is never "all circle" or "all partners" or "all
lines." Second, if we were making a set with a "food" theme, some
dance about chocolate would necessarily be included.

Kudos to Aaron Beckman who took home the grand prize... a game of
"Set" of course.

Enjoy!
Becca, Alexis, and Larry

BONUS SET -- this one was just for fun at the end of the night --
Anachnu Haro'im, Hora Yayin, Hadorchim Bagat, and Yam Tichoni.

* If you are on the Rikud list, you'll notice that the list I posted
there removed Shir Hachatuna and added in Yam Tichoni in set 14. We
did in fact play the dances in the order you see here. We realized
too late, however, that we'd made a mistake by throwing in Shir
Hachatuna at the last minute. It technically doesn't fit and Yam
Tichoni does (which was our original plan).

The MIT Folk Dance Club proudly presents its first ever
ISRAELI DANCING SET NIGHT!

On Wednesday, 9/30, you can come to dancing and play a game all
at the same time! Starting immediately after announcements
(so, 9:00pm, give or take a few minutes), we will play 10 sets
of dances... each set will have a theme (for example, "dances that
have a box step" or "dances choreographed by Israel Yakovee" or
"songs by Shlomo Artzi"). We will give you a set sheet on which
you will write down what you think is the theme linking all of the
dances in each set. Sets will be 3-4 dances long. You can choose
to participate in the game or not - up to you. If you participate,
you'll want to be sure to be there before the sets start -- if you
miss the first set, you'll miss the theme. Once the "set" portion
of the evening is done (around 10:30pm) we will collect your set
sheets and tally them up. The person who correctly identified the
most sets wins a prize. (Yes, we will have a prize.) Dancing will
continue after the set portion of the evening until everyone drops
or 11:30pm, whichever comes first. We'll announce the winner during
the remainder of the evening's program.

Set Night will be in the Sala de Puerto Rico, on the second floor
of the MIT Student Center, located at 84 Massachusetts Ave. Becca,
Alexis, and Larry will be programming. Kosher snacks will be served.
Suggested donation of $5 per person (students and seniors free).
