Description

The Mississippi River Trail (MRT) is a system of linked trails and roadways that stretches through 10 states along the length of the Mississippi River, from Lake Itasca in Minnesota to New Orleans, Louisiana.

Recognized as one of the nation's Millenium Trails, the MRT is one of the world's premiere trail routes. Traveling along the Trail, visitors journey through major cities, historic river towns, delta farmlands and untamed wilderness, rediscovering the fabric of America's cultural heritage in the process.

Encouraging residents and visitors to bicycle, rollerblade or walk on the MRT does more than improve community health and wellness. Users of the Trail personally experience the value of conserving America's rich natural landscape, indirectly stimulating responsible and sustainable economic development along the Trail simply by using it. Thus, our group is committed to continually promoting and developing this multi-use biking/hiking trail both for today and as a legacy for future generations to enjoy as well.

We encourage you to join our group and contribute to our efforts with your thoughts and ideas. Thanks for visiting.
