i am in texas and was going to maybe say hello to
k-paul but i have no clue how to find him but i have
this suspicious feeling that i am in his town i am in
Austin texas right now....
p.s. Pee Wee was right

I found an incredible spot the other day by my
work. The spot is just a little pond. But boy did it
look good. Picture a supper sharp rock/ gravel/sand
drop off into darkness in a lake with 10 feet of
visiblity. It's beautiful. It is connected by canels to a
chain of shallow lakes that have atleast bass and
walleye in them their is a huge forage base for this tiny
pond. I doubt the population is very large but I bet
the quality is quite good. It looks like the sort of
place a huge monster could come from. As place where
people would say, "Can you believe that fish came from
that little pond?" You can be sure I going to
investigate this further....
Went out fishing in Busse Forest Preserve in
Chicago,IL last weekend. Never fished there before so walked
along shore and found a place I could reach the water.
It was really shallow, about one foot deep. There
were minnows swimming on the surface. I took one cast
and boom! A fish. It's head came out of the water and
was pretty big but I couldn't tell what it. Then lost
it. I took another cast. I let my jig sink to the
bottom. Then I reeled it in slowly. At the moment the
lure reaches the shore and the lure comes out of the
water, a bass bit and I pulled it out of the water onto
the land without actually hooking it. That was it I
didn't catch anything more. Interesting.
it has been great out sunny warm i will pull out
the rod and reel not giving any concern to the
condition of said items let me remind you this is the same
reel that jerome had sitting in his garage for a
number of years and it is the same reel that he was
going to throw away but i talked him into giving it to
me instead....it has the same string and can only
cast about 5-10 feet but when you really think about
it.....the rod is the best dam bullhead rod i could ever
hope for.
hey never fear guys about the fishing cuz if
there is one thing that you can believe in is that
nomatter what is thrown at the carp and bullhead they will
prevail in unearthly numbers where there's water there is
bullhead....
A guy at work was out walking his dog around
Nokomis and he saw the same thing - lots of dead carp and
some game fish. I think because the ice took so long
to melt, the lakes have to oxygen left and the
plants haven't started to grow yet. By the looks of it,
fishing is going to suck this year.
Went to Ghettobrook and all the fish are dead.
All the way around the lake there are dead fish. A
floating mat about 3 feet wide surrounds the lake with
dead fish. There were thousands of dead fish, maybe
ten thousand. They were almost all carp but there
were some crappies, northern, sunfish, bullhead, and
bass too. I don't think there's much left in the lake
now. It will take years for the lake to recover. It's
a shame.
I'm not sure of where would be a good place to have bullhead fest but I am very
interested in participating. I know a couple of other people who would be
interested in participating too.
hey, how about regular minnows. they are brought
into watersheads that did not previously contain them.
and where they are present new genetic strains of
minnows are being introduced, possibly replacing original
lines. if you like extreame arguements: hummans are
being introduced into areas not native to. they are
exterminating native fisheries. perhaps if you are so worried
about original native fish strains you could do
everyone a huge favor and jump off something.
i am currently looking for some suggestion of
what to do for a bullhead fishing contest
(IE...location and what to shoot for size or quantity i am
leaning towards quantity) please give
suggestions
-daveeed
there is nothing wrong with a lake totally packed
with bullheads so much to the point that there is more
bullhead than water...all these lakes are saying(the one's
with too much bullhead) is that the lake is actually
very health but lakes enough large game fish ussally
do to over fishing or pollution
This goes out to the poachers that think bullhead
should be used as bait. Bullheads could become the next
millfoil if spread to lakes that do not natiavily support
bullhead. They have all the charachsitics of the hardy type
fish that could quickly overpopulate a lake. UNLESS
YOU WANT LAKES WITH SOILD BULLHEAD?
New for 2001 fishing season. bullhead for bait.
extreamly hardy against low oxygen, warm temps, and low
water quality. The only thing i can think of that would
kill them is crushing them with a big flathead
catfish, or muskie. they are so tough you cant cast them
off.
I added a couple of really cool features to the
site.

1)CALCUWEIGHT(TM) - Fish length to weight conversion calculator.
For Carp,Catfish, Walleye, Muskie, Bass, Sunfish and
Trout. It works pretty well except right now it only
works with MS Explorer browsers. Also it doesn't except
decimals yet.

2)Research and Articles

Last weekend I made it back to MN because of a
meeeting downtown. Fishing was in the cards of fate so I
rounded up Uncle Pete and Sean. We went to Misses Swampy
and tried our luck against the sheephead and other
forces in the universe. We had a can of corn and a
contain of worms. After almost being crushed by falling
rocks from the cliffs we made it to a spot. Of course
we didn't catch anything. I decided to throw a small
rock in the water because we were still fishing and it
would be about the worst thing you could do for fishing
so I thought it would be funny. It was followed by a
rock of similar size from uncle Pete. Then Sean
skipped a rock. Then all started skipping rocks. Somebody
decided to thow a large rock in with no intention of
skipping it. Soon we were all throwing the largest rocks
we could pick up in the water. The chaos continued
for about 30 minutes. Then we sat down. Then I took a
small rock and threw it at Peter. Peter threw one back
and me. I threw a few more at him and it began
escallated until we were throwing lots of rocks at each
other. My favorite technique was to throw a large rock
up in the air that was dangerously large to distract
him and then peg him with smaller rocks. His favorite
technique was to throw large rocks in the water nearest me
and watch the ice water splash me. Then we left, went
home and ate a gallon on ice cream malts.

Good
to see you back Daveed. We need to AOE!
i was gone for 3 weeks apon my return i went to

to feed the bullhead my mother commented that the

Flatheadcathish,

I couldn't agree with you
more. Thank you for everything you're doing for us. I
believe this merger of materials and effort will be a big
win for both parties involved. This is truly a case
where 1 + 1 =3. I look forward to our great future.

it is now apparent that the proposed merger of
lunkerlink and clemcon has been approved. this will mean
more services maybe. Also it will help to form a
larger mall of user based sites that will give more hits
and prestege to clemcon.com and lunkerlink.com
Berg and myself went fishin on Minnetonka tonight
for Crappies. We got 9 keepers, about 12 total.
Missed about as many as we caught. We were fishing in
12-13ft of water and getting bits around 10ft. The bulk
of the hits were between 5:30 and 7:00pm.

We
will probably try again next Saturday. Good luck ice
fishing everyone!
I finally got the Yahoo Club thing to work for my account.

I am going
fishin tomorrow with Berg on Minnetonka for Crappies. I will post a message
with results etc. sometime next week.
Hi everybody,
Welcome to the Minneapolis
Fishing Banditos Message board! Our website is under
heavy construction but please feel free to look at it
as there are lots of interesting pictures and
fishing research on it. I recently purchased the domain
name www.lunkerlink.com and am in the process of
moving us there. Currently we are located at:
www.geocities.com/jeromeshimizu
I think this website has a lot of potential
and I
don't think you will find another like it. The group of
us organizing it are experienced city fisherman and
of a completely different school of thought than
most of the pro. Enjoy!
