Description

THE MIDDLE WATERS LIVING HISTORY GROUP exists to meet some of our needs for sharing information, contacts, research, events, ride-sharing and all the things that we have come to realize we need badly but are sadly lacking, as a larger community, at present.

There are a number of reenactors in the Midwest that NEED to communicate, to better attendance at events, to improve our personas, to learn from one another, to share contacts and
resources. We can talk firearms, cooking, clothing, literature, music–you name it. Better yet, you share it! Ask questions, offer answers.

This is not a French group or an English group, an F & I, Revolutionary War or 1812 group specifically. We are not exclusively military or civilian, we are both. We are a group of Midwestern reenactors and longtime friends.

If we need to share information about Fort Osage or Ft. des Chartres, great, let's do it. If we want to discuss Rev-era research, that’s fine too. If there are clothing workshops, schools of the soldier, meetings to practice our woods skills or make a batch of candles, marvelous, we benefit.

If somebody finds some great bit about pirates--then "bring me that horizon!"

We have members whose primary interest is material culture, and those who need to know about tactics, drilling, or battles. Fine, we all have a lot to learn!

We are not exclusive, we are INCLUSIVE, from 1700 right up through the Fort Osage era--because at one time or another we reenact those eras.

Most important, though, is communication. It can only improve the reenacting community in the Middle Waters area, as the Osage once called it.

You–and any suggestions–are welcome here.
