I've posted a few pics in the photos section. I don't have one, but it
was made in the US (actually owned by someone overseas). Any info would
be appreciated.

Hey, that was very strange -- I sent a full reply and only the quoted part appears.  Here's the reply:

What the heck????

Anything I put below the quoted part isn't showing up. So, I'm
abandoning the quoted part. Here's the situation: I expect good
parking signage -- that was the case at the 2003 TCF, the last one I
attended. If not, just ask, there will be volunteers and stuff.

It's my understanding that the volunteers will have a list, of it not,
they'll be told to expect MARCH members. I asked our show contact for
clarification on this. If it's the latter case, then I guess we can
ALL use the vip parking, not just those of us who are exhibiting.

There's also allegedly a special loading/unloading area. This area
also allegedly has a reasonable time limit of unknown length.

6 feet will be a little tight for me... 8 would be better. Maybe we
can push tables together and split an extra table between two of us?

I just haven't had the time. Expect my stuff to look almost exactly
like my last year's VCF east display. If someone has the time and
inclination, I'll happily accept (and pay for materials) for "system
info" signs for my:

Ohio Scientific C4P-MF
6502 - 2MHz
48K memory
86K per single sided floppy

NorthStar Horizon
Z80 - 4MHz
56K memory
400K per double sided, hard-sectored floppy

That's the one..I have a box of these and I am glad to find a home for
whomever needs one. I don't even have a 2600, I don't know where I got them all
from. What I could use is a set of working paddles, any make/model will do...if
anyone would like to trade. I have two, but only the player 2 sides work on
each.

I don't have dot-matrix printer. Just need a simple Print Shop-esque,
black-and-white banner that says "The History of Handhelds, 1973-1993".

Please confirm on-list so we don't get five copies. :)

Thanks!

Hmmm, probally my most prized possession is my original IBM PC with the original IBM Tech feild Mods in it. The puppy still works fine and hums along. It's pretty much complete with all the original hardware and even the "burn your eyes out" screen still looks like new and there is no burn it.

The only other thing I'm happy with is the old Timex Sinclair I still have. Complete in the original box, with the additional 16K memory expansion module and I even still have the warranty card.

I have older stuff, but nothing says a classic then a true blue IBM.

Toshiba LC-836MN.

Say what...?

As many of you know, I collect vintage PDAs.  LOL, it's a very obscure niche, straddling the crevice between computer collecting and calculator collecting.  Specifically I am interested in the 20 years of history from BEFORE that love/hate company -- Apple -- supposedly "invented" ( HA !!!! ) the PDA.

It's very hard to say what was the true "first" PDA -- that depends on your definition.  But I can with 99% certainty that the Toshiba LC-836MN, also known as the Memo Note 30, was the first Palm-sized digital device with a built-in memo/organizer feature.  Some excellent details are posted at http://www.datamath.org/Related/Toshiba/LC-836MN.htm ... good luck finding much more than that ...

I own one of these in excellent condition.  Mine is in the original box, with the original manual and warranty card.  I also own the OEM version, sold as the Radio Shack EC-4002, although it's in lesser condition.

These and other mind-blowing vintage handhelds will be on display next weekend at the Trenton Compu... oh, sorry, that's just my usual pitch lately!

Hi, Folks!

I'll be at the Trenton Computer Festival this weekend and was hoping to find a working COSMAC 1802-based machine for sale with the intention of donating it to the David Sarnoff Library Museum in Princeton, NJ (just a short drive from the TCF). It's building its collection of early RCA products and co-hosts the New Jersey Antique Radio Club's repair clinics several times a year.

If anyone could bear to sell a working RCA VIP, Microtutor, Elf (preferably built from the Popular Electronics articles, but the Quest or Netronics kits are OK, too), Studio II videogame, or any 1802, 1861, etc chips that I could use to build/repair an Elf for the Library, please let me know. I'll be working the LUG/IP (Linux Users Group in Princeton) booths (inside on Sat afternoon, outside on Sun morning) and will be stopping by the MARCH booths in my "free" time.

We look forward to meeting you this weekend.  However, please be discreet if one of our members has the equipment you need -- we're not supposed to be selling anything at the MARCH exhibit, per the TCF management.

Hello Marchers,

Our TCF contact apologized for answering me so late -- said he had an
urgent business trip to Spain and just returned.

Anyway...

We can enter Saturday morning at 7:00.

Tell the parking staff you're with "special exhibits and Erik Wendt".
Ask them to direct you to the exhibits loading/unloading area.

Once inside, you'll need to find the Special Exhibits area. Hopefully
I will have found it already. I'll be cell-able at 617.461.7194. If
you can't reach me, just ask any show staff for the Special Exhibits area.

We will sharing the room with the NJ Antique Radio Club.

All other details (table layouts, power, etc.) will ** hopefully ** be
determined on-site. LOL, keeping my fingers crossed that nothing goes
terribly wrong!

TCF guy added -- one additional time -- NO SELLING AT OUR EXHIBIT.
It's acceptable to discreetly set up deals, but execut them someplace
else please.

(Why am I being such a weenie about this buying/selling thing? To
cover my ass, folks. I've made the announcement several times. Erik
Wendt, who quietly is on this group list, needs us to really cooperate
on this point. That way we have don't alienate attendees who are
promised something educational, not commercial, from us.)

Alas, I'm psyched and ready to go. Trenton or bust!

   - Evan

I guess this is a case of a day late/dollar short - but I recently sold an RCA
VIP, all original
in original packaging with manuals and paperwork on eBay! I wish I had known -
having it
as part of a public display would have been great.

find a working
COSMAC 1802-based machine for sale with the intention of donating it to the
David
Sarnoff Library Museum in Princeton, NJ (just a short drive from the TCF). It's
building its
collection of early RCA products and co-hosts the New Jersey Antique Radio
Club's repair
clinics several times a year.

Popular Electronics articles, but the Quest or Netronics kits are OK, too),
Studio II
videogame, or any 1802, 1861, etc chips that I could use to build/repair an Elf
for the
Library, please let me know. I'll be working the LUG/IP (Linux Users Group in
Princeton)
booths (inside on Sat afternoon, outside on Sun morning) and will be stopping by
the
MARCH booths in my "free" time.

Hi there, Dave Bassett here. Incidently, this is the first time I've used the Yahoo site to check Emails.....Anyway....About the Epson QX-10. I was not looking to sell it, I was looking for someone to give it to who would want to tinker with it. I Also thought it would be neat to display at the show, the only drawback being this unit's interest is it's historical interest, not a real dazzling display of any type. Anyway, I'll bring it, I just need a way to get in touch wth you once there at the show. Also, so you know : last time I had the unit out and running was, well let's see...Oh my, that was about 10 years ago. At that time, It had only one issue, and that was that if the unit was cold, (like if the house was cool and you just came home and started the heat, or, if you brought the unit in rrom the cold outside) the disk drive would spin, but would only deliver an error message. If you just let the unit warm up, it worked fine. Apparently, the floppy's head alignment is on the edge in cooler temps. I'm going to try to find the time Friday just to power it up and see how it's fared in the attic. Dave.
