As well as enjoying and being involved in many aspects of aviation i formed a
Balloon Museum and Preservation Group around 8 years
ago, this has since grown into one of the largest collections of balloons in the
world with 71 in the collection to date including
14 special shapes.
We preserve ballooning items and restore them to static exhibition standards for
museums and other aviation related purposes etc.
Recently we have undertaken the restoration of a vintage glider and another has
been offered to us for collection early next year.
All balloons and gliders have been donated by owners and operators throughout
the world.
We have realised recently that many of the original UK microlights are vanishing
without trace and that some of these are unique
examples of early micro flying in the UK, we would like to obtain a few examples
for restoration to static exhibition standards and
thus save a little piece of aviation history, it would not be out intention to
restore them to flying condition.
We would be very interested in any old withdrawn trikes/wings or complete but
retired craft to kick start our project and would love
to hear from you if you think you maybe able to help or have any suggestions.
In the meantime our Balloon Museum can be found at
