It was an autogyro. Check YouTube for "l'autogiro di luciano nannelli". The ribbon got tangled in the pusher prop. Donald

I surfed the Italian papers to see how the plane 'sucked the flowers in'. It seems the bouquet ribbons got caught around the tail, I assume elevator and that
