This group is for families in Michigan that Unschool or are relaxed homeschoolers. This group is not for discussion of curriculum or how to get kids to "do school", rather it's a forum to discuss unschooling, share our unschooling experiences, ask questions or just explore the concept. It is understood that each family is at a different point in their journey and not everyone on this list will be a radical unschooler, some may be just exploring the idea, others may be relaxed homeschoolers but not quite ready to call themselves unschoolers and yet others may be some combination of these. We will strive to provide support and encouragement wherever each family is in their unschooling journey. With that being said, I also want it understood that there are many local lists for discussion of curriculum and 'schoolish' activities and we will try to stay away from those topics here. This will be primarily an on-line group, but occasional acitivities may be planned....I am in the Metro Detroit area so that is where many activities will be planned, but those of you in other areas are welcome to use this forum to connect and plan activities. Members are welcome to post events and activities as well that may be of interest to other families.
