And a Nana is born :) Presenting.... Our First Grandchild!   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #327 of 327 | Next >
Our beautiful granddaughter, Madysen Hillda Ann-Marie, born July 3rd at 6:59pm weighing 7#11.2oz, measuring 20.5in. After 21 hours of active labor (with no pain meds), including 4.5 hours of pushing, our beautiful Mady was born into her Nana's hands and presented to her Mommy; our daughter Lindsay.

I cannot even begin to describe the love I feel for this little girl. She has stolen my heart. My heart has expanded 10,000 times! She could ask me for ANYthing and I couldn't say "no"! Good thing she can't talk yet! I never knew I could feel love like this. I am just mush! Our granddaughter is THE smartest, THE most beautiful and THE most engaging newborn ever born! (please do not send replies with evidence that I am wrong and your grandchildren are better, I would never believe you anyway). I know, I know, all my midwifery clinical skills should convince me otherwise but HONESTLY, our granddaughter was smiling directly at her mother, clearly focusing on her MINUTES after her birth! (clinical note: she was weeks overdue, so that might have helped her readiness to smile voluntarily) She continues to smile at her mama and her nana- looking directly at us (pictures below are proof). She's brilliant and amazing and gorgeous! (no, I didn't just repeat myself, I used different adjectives). Her Mama is doing well, she required no stitches and is healing nicely. Mady is getting the hang of nursing- took her a few days but she has it down now! She has been a bit of a crier up until the last 20 hours or so. Now when she sleeps for two hours her mama worries that she isn't breathing! We're hoping it will only get easier from here!

Now I offer you...

The picture of perfection!
