This February I re-visited the Seal museum and did some corrosion
prevention work with their maintenance personell. There are some photos
in a new album in this groups "PHOTOS" section.
The Seals grew out of the WW2 Underwater Demolition Teams who clear
beach obstacles prior to amphibious landings during the war.
The Seal environment is about as corrosive as you can get, being only a
few 100 yards from the pounding surf of the Atlantic Ocean at Fort
Pierce Florida.
The curator was kind enough to give me a Seal Museum hat for my
efforts. I'll have 'Supporter' embroidered on it so I won't look like
a 'wannabe'.
