We will have a variety of activities right at the hotel – more opportunity for fun -- TOGETHER! A Kettle restaurant is within walking distance from the hotel.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone. This was and is still one of the highlights of the year for my immediate family, and me ever since we were little kids. If you have never experienced the McCarty Reunion, please make this the first! The young and the young at heart have a great time at the swimming pools, so bring your swimsuits!
Please remember to bring your photos, games, and long missed kin folks. The second copy of this letter is for them. Please pass it on to someone.

Thank you so much for your wonderful information. I first saw the
bible page in a query posted by Freida Scarborough on "Wendy Loveless Miller"
Web page which is also where I found your query. The name Garland
and the other siblings caught my eye as I was already familiar with these
names. This is the proof I've been searching for to connect
Garland in the family with William and the other children.
From my Lovelace/less data So Carolina deed records show that
in 1818 William Loveless with wife Jemima Dawson sold property. It
is said that William later married Rebecca Dawson, Jemima's sister and
had several of the younger children by her (James Jackson, Sarah Jane,
Francis Safronia). My hunch is he probably married Rebecca Dawson before
Martha Ann Rebecca was born in 1819. In 1830 William is in Pulaski
Co. GA which verifies Jane being born in GA. He sells a piece of
land there in 1831 which was witnessed by Benjamin D. William next
shows up in Barbour Co., AL where he stays till his death in 1854.
There is documented evidence that puts Garland, Benjamin, Everette,
Mary, Susan Emaline, William Lafyette, James Jackson, and Francis Safronia
in Barbour Co., AL at the same time as William. Also if Sarah Jane
married Till McCarty there, she was also there with William. As to
what happened to the other siblings, I don't know. I didn't know
anything of Sarah Jane's whereabouts till I heard from Freida Scarborough's
query.
Freida stated that she got the bible info from the old family bible
in the possession of Gertie Parks in June of 1981. Did you get your
copy from Freida. Maybe I should ask do you know Freida Scarborough.
I would like to get in touch with the person who has the bible. I
would very much like to see the bible. But -- until I can do that
I would greatly appreciate it if you would send me a copy of the xerox
copy that you have. That would be great!
I will update my Loveless data base and send it to you shortly so
that you will have all the info we have on Sarah Jane Loveless' family.
It has been data based back to 1300 England. However, I have only
participated in research back to her grandfather, Benjamin - William's
father.
Garland died between 1843, when his last son was born, and 1847 when
his wife married again. I believe he had only three children, Martha,
David Jefferson, Levi. David J. is my husband's great-grandfather.
I appreciate so much you sending me your web page info. We do
not have a page but really should consider one.
My address: Merlene G. Lovelace

I hope I have not confused you to much or rambled on aimlessly.
Okay, folks -
To get us headed in the right direction for the family reunion in June
and to get everybody stirred up and ready to go to Monroe - what say we
start telling some of those good ole stories that we usually tell at the
reunion....
1) It gets them down on hardcopy where we can start preserving them
better for future generations
2) I can put them on the website for us to enjoy or refer to anytime
we want
I've put Sid Bondurant's version of the Tillman Civil War "Desertion" on
the web page (http://www.geocities/com/twmccarty).... Of course, we've
ALL heard Dollie's version where "yes, he did desert, but everybody did
- it was time to plant the crops...." This one may be a little closer
to reality - and it may not - but that's not the point is it? :)
Only 3 months and 8 days to go...

Patsy,
Hi and welcome.
Andrew Vernon McCarty sounds familiar and we have a Verna McCarty, daughter
of James.
McCarty is a historic name in Van Zandt County, Texas near Tyler. I'm also
new to the research and haven't checked things out in Canton (county seat) yet.
I do know they have a historical society and that there's at least on book about
the early families.
See http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Bluffs/1339/ for info we have.
Here's more info:
"Jim, did you know that the San Saba Historical Society are re-selling their
1983-84 "San Saba County History Book for $59+$5=$64. And, they are asking
people like you and me to send in material for a new re-vised San Saba History
Book.
Here is their address:
San Saba Co. Historical Commission; 500 East Wallace, San Saba, Texas
76877.
Email: jerlyn@... (Jerry &Lynn Blankenship).
Here are two new names and Email addresses:
Allen Vinzant; allen@.... He lives in California. He is just
great. Two of his Vinzant ancestors married two McCarty brothers, Miles D.
McCarty and Joshua McCarty from Alabama and San Saba County. His brother, Vernon
Vinzant lives in Marshall, Texas: Vee3@.... He may still be on vacation,
but he may be home. He has not responded to my package.
Good Luck, Noma Joice" nlj@...
Hope this helps. Let me know if I can help with anything here.

This Uncle Had Spark
One aristocratic clan's ancestors had come to America on the Mayflower, and
their lineage included senators, captains of industry and Wall Street
wizards.
So proud were they of their family tradition that they decided to compile a
family history as a legacy for their children and grandchildren. They hired a
fine author. Only one problem arose -- how to handle that great-uncle who was
executed in the electric chair.
Not to worry, said the author. He could write that chapter of their history
tactfully, and indeed, he did. "Great-uncle George," he wrote, "occupied a
chair of applied electronics at an important government institution, was
attached to his position by the strongest of ties and his death came as a
real shock."
Jim--
I LOVE IT..absolutely everyone I know will have this in their box my
morning. It will probably be more circulated than a whore on main street.

I'm glad you couldn't resist. You bring up a common fallacy among
genealogists. The truth is, that going past Adam and Eve is not difficult IF you
know:
1. WHICH rib was used to create Eve and
2. WHERE the dust came from which formed Adam.
If you have that information, you may be able to go back even farther.
On my father's side, we have traced to the 8th intercostal space on the
right side of Adam's chest. This is now known to be the origin place of Eve.
From here, all records point to Adam's line. As to the exact place where the
dust for Adam was taken, we believe that DNA readings present in all humans will
show that we all contain traces of cadmium, selenium and pigeon...waste... as
well as traces of crabapple DNA and grapefruit. Since the grapefruit tree in
Eden was on the Northeast side of the Garden, AND it was known to be inhabited
by numerous pigeons, I have a strong reason to believe that the dust of the
earth which was used to form Adam came from the Western side (closest to the
crabapple tree) of the grapefruit tree, very probably under the second to the
highest branch which was directly under a pigeon nest AND contains the requisite
minerals.
I hope this helps.
Thanks
