They are easy to adjust IF the thrust bearing on end of steering shaft is in good shape. Even if bearing is worn, adjusting the steering will help a lot....

Quite possibly, but I can't say for sure. I do know that AMF (one on ebay right now)had a mower IDENTICAL to a MF12, so they did make for other companies. ......
