Slight addition to location guide described in previous post:

Enter through main gate at Brompton Road end. Looking straight ahead
you'll see the Chapel in the distance (a circular building with a
dome), At this point you will be facing South.

Turn Left (East)and then take the third right (South again). This
will take you on a path parallel to the one leading straight to the
Chapel.

Continue right the way down this path until you see a structure on
your right. This is the building beneath which are the catacombs.
You'll see that if you continue the collonade then forms one half of
a circle and as you look right there will be a gap through which
you'll see more monuments.

At this point there's a crossroads in the path. One leads left (East)
to the higher path, one leads right (West) into the circle and one
carries on straight ahead (South). At this point you are close to the
grave of La Casati.

Walk straight ahead (South), and look to your left. You'll see almost
immediately that the graves thin out a bit. In this more sparsely
populated area you should see her marker. It is actually about 10 to
12 metres to the left of this path.

It's an stone urn with a carved cloth draped over the top but it
differs from the other urns in that it has a carved garland
that 'hangs' over the front of it.

And that's her. The inscription spells her name LOUISA rather than
the more usually recognised LUISA and beneath, if you look through
the grass it reads 'Age cannot wither her nor custom stale her
infinite variety'.

And yes, she was buried with one of her beloved stuffed Pekinese dogs
at her feet (although you'll just have to visualise that for
yourself).

It's a beautiful graveyard and well worth a visit. If you want more
information on Brompton Cemetary follow the path to the Fulham Road
gate. On your right at the Fulham Road gate is the South Lodge. Here
you'll find more information on the other inhabitants.

There are guided tours of this cemetery from time to time and I
strongly urge you to take one. They are highly informative and
entertaining. The place is filled with stories.

Happy hunting.

If you have a map of the graveyard it's in sector AC.
