The Mano a Mano (NY) E-MAIL NETWORK is a moderated list that seeks to connect the Latino / Latina lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) communities in New York to events, alerts, job opportunities, health resources, news and other topics related to the local, statewide, national and international Latino / Latina LGBT community. It also seeks to provide a forum through which these same issues can be discussed and evaluated by the community through e-mail discussions and postings on the Mano a Mano chat-room.
The E-MAIL NETWORK is an offshoot of Mano a Mano, a network of New York City-based Latino lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) organizations and activists that was created in 1997 with three objectives:
1) To share and disseminate information on activities and services available to the New York City Latino LGBT community through a Communications Network;
2) To address issues that affect the New York Latino LGBT community (including but not limited to AIDS/HIV prevention and treatment, general health care, housing, immigration, language access, same sex violence, homophobia, coming out, visibility and cultural awareness) and
3) To foment the development of Latino LGBT organizations in New York by offering technical support, developing connections to funding sources, creating a job announcement bank, and creating collaborative opportunities.
You do not need to be part of the Mano a Mano program to be part of this e-mail list but if you are interested in becoming involved please contact Andres Duque at aduque@latinoaids.org.
