Good to see Kaishin Koji can be as dangerous as the rest of 'em.
Think we're gearing up for the big Habaki vs. Anotsu fight?

Good call.  Did a search with the ISBN and still couldn't find it through amazon.jp bit it can be purchased through the Kodansha website.

Here's the ISBN anyway -   ISBN978-4-06-314598-4

And while the cover art seems like a radical shift from Samura's, if u look closely at the, uh... Sister, you can see it's a very stylized version of Samura's pencils.

I finally got around to buying and reading Sister Generator yesterday, so here
are some quick thoughts:

Kuzein House's Greatest Show: Well, I've already read this only, what, 2 or 3
months ago, so I skipped it. Not my favorite piece here, but it wasn't bad
either.

Seifuku wa Nugenai ('We Can't Take off Our Uniforms'): Eight 4-page chapters of
comedy. Two (sometimes three) high-school girls banter back and forth, serving
as a vessel for Samura's observational humor. Samura admits in the afterword
that because he doesn't keep up with the news or anything, he ran out of
material pretty quickly, but it had some pretty great riffs while it lasted.

Brigit's Supper: I hadn't read this one before, actually. Seemed like an idea
that Samura came up with for Bloodharley no Basha, but decided it wasn't the
direction he wanted to take that book in. (I'm thinking of the end [of Brigit's
Supper] in particular here.) Anyway, it was nice.

Shizuru Cinema: About a guy trying to make it as a manga-ka and his junior high
school age girlfriend, with a twist ending that I obviously won't give away.
Still not sure if it was good, but at the very least, as with all recent Samura
stuff, I can say it had some very pretty pictures.

Kasou Senryaku - Kagami-uchi (again I don't feel like translating this one):
Four pages of Samura detailing his exploits during a game of mahjong. I totally
don't get mahjong, but like Akagi, you only really need to know the gist of it.
(Also, having read this, I can confirm that Samura is a fan of Akagi)

Seishun Jan Jaka Jaka Jaka ('Youth Jan Jaka Jaka Jaka' <- guitar strumming
sounds): Six pages, boy confesses love to girl through song. Weak sauce.

Emerald: Been years since I've read this one in its English scanlation form.
Turns out I still think it's pretty good. Samura says in the afterword that
someone compared it to Hirohiko Araki's work, which doesn't seem too far off the
mark to me.

In conclusion I like stuff like this much more than what I've read of Halcyon
Lunch, and wish he would drop that series and focus on doing another book like
this (or like Bloodharley no Basha for that matter)

If you could even take photos that'd be great. Looks like raw scans of that chapter never came out, since chapter 183 was just posted.

Good to see Ryo and the pistol guy finally get an action scene.

to post when and where to order these. With regard to the recently (and long
awaited) released BOTI Vol. 21 - I loved it. As a preface, the last of the
translated tankoubons I read with any consistency was right up until Manji and
Doa turned Burando's Nue into a meat cloud. Since then, I've been largely
celibant of any spoiler scanlations - mostly because the great job Dark Horse
with the trades is worth the wait.

idea of where the story is currently. Having said that, the events in the last
chapter or so of this trade were pleasantly horrifying shocks to me. Though the
much-maligned prison arc dragged on for (for me) years, it was much more
palatable consumed in trade form and ended with one of the biggest bangs in BOTI
lore. The artwork, for the most part, is some Samura's best and I am never
disappinted by his increasing capacity to display sadism at it's most raw in yet
another of his epic skirmishes. God, I love this stuff - I tried to read the
current trade over a few hours to savor it, but like chocolate or porn, I
devoured it with a lust that's only left me wanting more! /end creepy diatribe.

Take the Uniform Off", or more literally, "The Uniform Can't Be Taken Off").
It's listed as an unfinished serial that started in 2005 in Quick Japan, a
magazine that is, as I understand it, focused on hip media in general (so, like:
movies, TV, music, books, etc.), but you can also count on it to have a couple
of manga serials running in it at any given time by hip manga-ka (e.g. off the

In the spirit of keeping the board cooking:

http://natalie. mu/comic/ news/show/ id/20645

Along with the covers for Sister Generator and volume 25 of BotI, this page also lists the contents for Sister Generator:

Emerald

Brigit no Bansan ('Brigit's Supper')

Kuzein-ke no Saidai no Show ('The Kuzein House's Greatest Show')

Seifuku wa Nugenai ('The Uniform Won't/Can't Come Off'; the short Quick Japan series I mentioned before... apparently it's 8 chapters in all)

Kasou Senryaku: Kagami-uchi (one-shot in Kindai Mahjong ['Modern Mahjong' -- it's the thing Akagi runs in]; I am totally clueless about mahjong so I don't feel up to translating the title here)

Shizuru Kinema ('Sizzle Cinema'; a one-shot that ran in Comic Flapper a while ago that, now that I think about it, I do remember hearing about)

Seishun Jan Jaka Jaka Jaka (seishun = 'youth', the rest = sound effects?; this one hasn't been published in any magazines)

So, the book just got a little beefier. This is good news. Both covers look pretty good, too.

In the spirit of keeping the board cooking:

http://natalie.mu/comic/news/show/id/20645

Along with the covers for Sister Generator and volume 25 of BotI, this page also
lists the contents for Sister Generator:

Emerald

Brigit no Bansan ('Brigit's Supper')

Kuzein-ke no Saidai no Show ('The Kuzein House's Greatest Show')

Seifuku wa Nugenai ('The Uniform Won't/Can't Come Off'; the short Quick Japan

Seishun Jan Jaka Jaka Jaka (seishun = 'youth', the rest = sound effects?; this

Well that is certainly excellent news about all this "new" (to me, anyway) Samura stuff surfacing.  I truly can't get enough of his work.  Please be sure to post when and where to order these.  With regard to the recently (and long awaited) released BOTI Vol. 21 - I loved it.  As a preface, the last of the translated tankoubons I read with any consistency was right up until Manji and Doa turned Burando's Nue into a meat cloud.  Since then, I've been largely celibant of any spoiler scanlations - mostly because the great job Dark Horse with the trades is worth the wait.

Ah, actually the book Samura has coming out next month is called "Sister

Cool, thanks for the brief translations. Haven't checked this board in a while,
and it looks like it's lost some energy.

Looks like Samura is taking a break from Blade this month, and instead has a new
50 page one shot. Called Kuze Inke Saidai no Show.
So if anyone wants to take a crack at translating that one, it's up on Raw
Paradise.
I won't try to speculate on what the plot is, but it involves a piano playing
high school girl who's father has some sort of weird piano bench fetish. :)

Also, has anyone seen his OTHER series called Halcyon Lunch? I've only seen two
of the four chapters, and it is really surreal. Basically about a girl who can
eat anything, (food, people, cars, etc) with her chopsticks, and spits them out
in these bizarre combinations.

The first chapter was scanlated here:
http://manga.animea.net/halcyon-lunch.html but it looks like they stopped
after the first chapter.

ALSO: It looks like he'll have two new books released in Japan in September,
one based on his "Emerald" western one shot, (hopefully expanded into a full
book?) and Blade book 25.

ALSO: What did everyone think of the Dark Horse book 21 prison arc finale?
Haven't had a chance to pick it up yet.

Since some people asked, here are some bits of translation from the discussion
between Rin and Renzo. Those who don't like spoilers should stop here!!!

SPOILERS
***

Rin: I'm the one who killed your father.
Everyone: * SHOCK! *
Rin: I hired Manji, he killed him for me. I'm the one your sword should target.
But I don't want to die yet. There is something I have to do no matter what
[image of Anotsu]. Until then, I cannot die.
Renzo: I suspected there was something between you and my father from the
beginning... But I didn't know anything... He didn't even tell me how my mother
died... Tell me what happened with my father! If nobody tells me anything, how
can I decide what to do!?
Magatsu: Rin, won't you tell us why you're fighting?
Rin: Not your problem!
Magatsu: It's my former friends... Brat, have you heard of the Ittoryu?
Renzo: No...
Magatsu: Then listen and remember.
And then he tells him.
Remember, this mailing list is not meant to share scans!
Except it's dead.
Meh.
Magatsu: Then take your time to think and see if you can forgive them. Don't
hesitate to think about it for a long time. He won't change anyway.

Don't suppose anyone still has these and would be willing to upload? The link is
dead already and I can't seem to find the makie wallpaper in the group's files.

Does anybody still have this chapter? I'm reading through the series right now,
and I can't seem to get a hold of this one.

Chapter 181!! :D
http://mangahelpers.com/s/raw-paradise/details/36689

could someone translate the lines? the chapter is all talk - and a seemingly
interesting one.
I've posted here a sumary of what happened but god knows why my message didnt
appear at all, so I won't do that again. just download it and try to get as many
things as you can without apropriate knowledge of japanese :/
btw, Rin looks pretty cool (and sexy <3)in this chapter. her eyes.... wow.

i wish there was a lovely soul around who could translate some of it. or at
least tell what the more important they said...

SPOILERS

Basically, Enzo tries to attack Manji in his bed in this chapter. Of course, he
wouldnt get it easily.
First, there's some talk between them and Enzo looks a bit desperate. Rin crawls
out of her own bed to stant in front of Manji, protecting him, and she seems to
tell Enzo about the Itto-Ryu and the boy's father. Her eyes in this scene are
great. Cold and cool :D doesnt look like that lil Rin from before :) He looks
miserable... poor boy... But anyways, he aims at rin for his slice (or she
believes so), but changes his mind, attacking Manji instead. The ninja woman
(whose name I forgot, sorry) lying down with him protects him and gets her hand
hurt. By this time, Magatsu and the other woman dominate him. Later there's more
talk and talk, with very interesting reactions, but only understandable for
those who speaks japanese :/

Wolves being immortal........far fetched and no relevance. If you read the
prison arc, you'd saw that it was extremely hard to find suitable host with the
worms. Makie....well i would have thought she was really important
to the ittouryu, as well as shira being rather important being such a kick ass
antagonist, i'm glad he didn't die from falling off cliff. The story is winding
down as well, so loose ends are being tied. Meh

Does anyone think that now those wolves will become immortal?

Honestly, I think that the best stories of the series were all in the first 10 volumes. There were lots of new characters being introduced and also an intriguing plot involving the Itto-Ryu, Makie, Hyakurin, Shira and the Mugai-ryu, and even Master Sori.

I believe that most of the chapters since then have just been a tedious repetition of an initially interesting idea (for example, the prison arc) or mere reintroductions of old characters (like Makie and Shira) to provide an excuse for empty action scenes.

The artwork is still beautiful and I do hope the series will return to its best moments soon.

that was a nice summary, thanks!
The chapter is beatiful.

Since Tankobon 23 BOTI has really picked up it's pace again. I believe Tankobon 16-20 have been pushed by the publishers to add some meat.

Anyhow Samura's doing his job well again, which means that we can again enjoy one of the best mangas ever published (IMHO)

He addresses Renzou and apologizes to him for failing to kill his father's murderer (Manji). He engages in some philosophical musings I can't really follow, but the gist of it is that he's reflecting on his dying, that he isn't in pain but that he's bored. He needles Renzou about having had sex with him--HA!--and reflects on the "deathless," musing that the "danna" (I think it may be Manji, but could this be a reference to Kagimura?) doesn't have anyone to protect him anymore.

It's difficult to know exactly how serious Shira is being, as he's been laughing maniacally for the entire chapter, but Renzou is shaken.

I'm not exactly sure what all it is that they're discussing, but "Ittouryuu" pops up a fair bit. Judging from their sneaky expressions afterwards, maybe they were throwing Mitake off their trail? They explain to Magatsu and Rin (who's regained consciousness, yay) that they didn't come back to help them. Meguro and Magatsu bitch at each other (over Magatsu's cooking skills or lack thereof, I think). There is a bit of awkwardness when Rin and Tanpopo discuss Rin and Manji's injuries, and Tanpopo apologizes...before glomping Manji. Mixed messages, much? Renzou chooses that point to bust in, armed with a sword and looking like a rage zombie.
