Manbites Dog is a professional non-profit theater company founded in Durham in October 1987, serves the Triangle area of central North Carolina. Manbites Dog's purpose is to produce new and challenging theatrical events; showcase and nurture developing playwrights, directors, actors, and artists; facilitate cross-disciplinary and cross-community projects; and help strengthen this region's theatrical community.

Manbites Dog has mounted more than 80 productions in the last 22 seasons, many of them regional or state premieres, as well as a broad range of local and national guest artists and companies in its Other Voices series. This season's shows include the first North Carolina productions of ACT A LADY by Jordan Harrison, THE RECEPTIONIST by Adam Bock, THE OVERWHELMING by J.T. Rogers, and AGE OF AROUSAL by Linda Griffiths. Recent presentations in our Other Voices Series of guest companies and artists have included exciting new works by The Little Green Pig Theatrical Company, both hands theatre, Black Poetry Theater, Joshua Lozoff, and Paperhand Puppet Intervention.
