Maine Transgender Network, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides support and resources for the transgender community, their families, and significant others, and raises awareness about the varied forms of gender identity and expression by providing training and consultation for mental health and social service professionals.

This is a forum for transgender individuals and their families in Maine, and people who are interested in learning about transgender issues, especially those specific to Maine.

Hopefully, one function of this group will be to build connections among transgender folks and/or their families--no one should have to feel isolated or forced to deal with issues of gender identity alone. We are often asked about trans "resources" in Maine. Well, the fact is there aren't many. It is up to US to be the "resources" we need. Together, let's create the change we want to see!
