This is a forum for transgender individuals and families in Maine, and people who are interested in learning about transgender issues, especially those specific to Maine.

Hopefully, one function of this group will be to build connections among transgender folks and/or their families--no one should have to feel isolated or forced to deal with issues of gender identity alone. I'm often asked about trans "resources" in Maine. Well, the fact is there aren't many. It is up to US to be the "resources" we need. Together, let's create the change we want to see!

This group is run by MaineTransNet (Maine Transgender Network, Inc.), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to educating the public about gender identity and raising awareness of the varied forms of gender expression. We provide support and consultation to transgender/transsexual individuals, their families, schools, social service organizations, and interested others.
