This is a forum for the discussion of topics relating to the magic lantern (a.k.a. stereopticon). These topics include the collection, preservation, and research of magic lantern projectors and illuminants, glass slides, and magic lantern ephemera. Topics related to giving magic lantern slide shows will be included. This group is open to magic lantern collectors, people who give magic lantern shows, magic lantern dealers, and photography archivists who have questions about lantern slides. If you have images to share of your favorite slides, or lanterns, they may be uploaded to the group files section. Dealers, please feel free to post notices of your upcoming sales, or auctions, of magic lantern material. The exception would be if you are a very active seller on eBay, we don't need to know about every item you list on eBay. (Note: a stereopticon is NOT a hand-held device that is looked into to see a pair of images in 3-D. That is a stereoscope, and you will find that group in Yahoogroups as 3D-Stereographs.)
