I will copy my newly found Uncle on this topic.

My dad Lloyd McQueary born August 27, 1933 is your second cousin. He

Bobby died when he was about 11 years old. He also has two sisters

Do your remember them or did you ever meet any of your grandfather's
brothers or sisters? I also understand that one of James Rowe's
brothers was a dwarf.

vary carfully Mark, vary carfully. If your line does not connect to the
last chief it is very hard to do as there vary few records on line and none
on this side of the pond. I have the clan data base going back beyound
Cormac Mor. If you are interested e-mail me off list fydf@...,
also you can look at the file on the clan web site, it is a little out
dated but it will get you back to Cormac. There is a lot of material on
line just google Cormac Mor, but you must be careful of what you pick up.
I suggest that you google the Baronage of Scotland and go to the pages for
MAcQaurie you will find Cormac listed and his decent down to he last chief.
Also while they last all new members to the society will get a copy of R.W.

Frank,
Charles McQuerry did indeed died at Chatfield Point, Navarro County, Texas, on
15 December 1866. Mary Ann Alcorn McQuerry died in Collin County, Texas, on 10
April 1856 most probably in the home of her sister, Minerva Mills Alcorn Baccus
(b. 4 Jul 1887 in Pulaski County Kentucky--d. 25 May 1887 in Collin County,
Texas), who was the namesake of my great grandmother, Minerva Jane McQuerry
Dougherty. Family lore insists Mary became ill on the journey West.
I also grew up hearing tales about the very formidable Auntie Baccus, who
apparently was the guardian of my great, great grandmother, Martha Louisa Ruth
Degman McQuerry (at least according to my maternal grandmother, Mary Ruth
Dougherty Box). Martha Louisa Ruth apparently had to bring her aunt coffee in a
china cup every morning. After Martha Degman's mother died, her dad, a Jabez
Degman, went to Texas, apparently leaving his daughter in the care of Auntie
Baccus either back in Kentucky or else in Collin County, Texas. [Collin County
is located just North of Dallas County.]

Kim, William McQueary (9 Feb 1765-25 Apr 1832) and Nancy Ann Shepherd (8 Mar
1770-12 Jun 1833) are also in my family tree. One of their sons, Charles, spellt
his surname as "McQuerry": Charles McQuerry (1802-1866) and Mary Ann Alcorn
(1809-1856) left Kentucky for Texas in 1856. On my kitchen table, I have an
Adams Platter that the McQuerrys took with them when they left Kentucky for
Texas. If I'm counting back correctly, we're sixth cousins.
Frank, I'll try to owe you my dues a.s.a. p. I've had a lot of medical
expenses these last few months, but I should be able to spare $25.

William and Nancy MacQuarry are in my family history. My family comes from

Where did you find the cemetery that you took pictures at? I currently live in

Frank,
Â
Â

Frank, I'll try to owe you my dues a.s.a. p. I've had a lot of medical expenses
these last few months, but I should be able to spare $25.

My branch of the McQuerrys came from Paint Lick, Garrard, Kentucky to Texas in
1855, traveling down the Missouri and the Mississipi until they reached the Gulf
of Mexico. My great great grandfather, Dr. William McQuerry was a homeopathic
physician in Zephyr, Brown, Texas. My great grandmother, Minerva Jane McQuerry,
married a Joseph James Dougherty, of Castlemore, Ontario, and they lived in
Brown, Collin, and Tarrant Counties, ending up in Grapevine, Texas (where the
Dallas/Fort Worth airport is now located.
