I notice that too, though I too don't know why the recent Lupin TV movies aren't
presented in 1.78:1 like a majority of other anime today. I've seen some anime
tv shows that would switch from standard to wide screen presentation like how
the One Piece anime start being broadcasted in 1.78:1 by the time it was late
2004.
