Description

This page contains information which you might find useful when planning a canoe or kayak trip on the nationally designated wild and scenic Lumber River in southeastern North Carolina. Included are

locations of landings, distances and estimated paddling times,campsites, and river outfitters on or near the river. Click on "messages" and start with "first" then work back.

Members who paddle the river are asked to record observations including section # paddled, date, water level at nearest gauge, obstacles encountered, and things you found interesting

Update Willoughby Rd, (2121) to Boardman Landing (Rt 74)
The Lumber River canoe club paddled this section Sept. 4, 2010 . There were seven trees down blocking the river. Mitch, Jim , and Omer cleared a path through

Matthews Bluff to Boardman
A lot of big downfall in the last year. Most of the way was cleared last fall. On Sat. 4/24/10, with level 4.3 at Boardman, encountered one major blockage

Lowe Rd to Keneric Rd April 17, 2010
Plenty of water on this day about 9 ft; on Lumberton gage. We had no problems. No portages or pull overs. Easy nine mile trip.
