\The KAG vessel IKV Melota attended the Lone Star Warrior's November
Good Day to Dine at the Plano Spaghetti Warehouse.

The food was very good. But, the conversation was even better.

We picked this location to raid a mundane club's meeting. We raided the
local chapter of the Mars Society.

This was unique amongst our Good Days to Dine. While we normally avoid
talking Ship stuff (work) and consider the GDtD a time to play, this was
different even from that. This was the first time to talk real, hard
core science with mundanes.

And believe me, these mundanes know their science. One of the agenda
items was a report from the previous 24 hours about the "hard aground"
Spirit and the latest attempt to move it off of its "reef".
We got into technical discussions involving gravity, bone loss, heart
strength and hydrodynamics just for a few.

This was intended to be a surprise, however, one of the members figured
it out. At least he humored us by keeping mum.

Due to some confusion and bad memories, we did not quite vote upon the
next location. Since all participants were IKV Melota members (bummer*)
we are going to recon some venues and vote to post the next location.

*We miss our fellow DFW klingons who did not show. We all hope to see
you at the next Good Day to Dine which shall be in January. Location,
day, time to be determined based upon the recons.

Thank you, Mars Society for tolerating our raid on your meeting. You
were great sports.

Strength and Honor,
Salek, Sutai

There are no heavy rail trains on Sunday. However, for those of us
coming in from FtW, Arlington, areas west for example...

Parking at the Westmoreland train station at 1700 for the 1709 train would

a) save the drive way up there,
b) get face time among the mundanes.

Weather permitting. I'll walk in the rain from Haggard Park. Others
might not.

Mike is looking at the beginning of January for a proposed workday at his place. This will be a weekend of work, fellowship and hanging at his place for the weekend. I am definitely planning on being there. We are gonna be getting the PB field in shape, as well as the flop house. It will involve wood work, toting and the like.
He wants to know of dates that would work for everyone, ones that wont coincide with anyones plans.
His internet is down right now and he wanted me to post this out there. Also realize this is an event in Arkansas.
So, holler out either on the groups or send private emails.

Most of the IKV Melota krew and two non-Melota members who are LSWA
regulars were there.

We missed you, Sir Glen. Hope to see you at the next GDtD in November.

Well, after spending the afternoon wandering around the Fort Worth Gun Show I stopped at the Souper Salad on the way home - AT 6:00 - and I guess that will teach me to check my e-mail more often...

So who all was there and where are we going next time?

I believe this location is just opposite the parking garage. There is a mall entrance on the I-20 access road from Matlock to Cooper, third right past the IHOP. Take a right at the fork once you get to the loop around the mall and it is on the right just past the AMC Theater.

Personal Log, Recording:

The last Terran month had five Sundays, therefore the Lone Star
Warrior's Association had a Good Day to Dine.

We met at the Park's Mall food court in Arlington (TX). We ate various
foods and then began a walkabout of the mall.

The walkabout was definitely the highlight of the evening this time.
All of the mundanes thought that we were present to see "the movie".

The trip through the knife shop was a special treat as klingons and
edged weapons are virtually synonymous. They got a kick out of us and
we did some serious shopping.

We did not bother with Victoria's Secret. They have no sense of humor
as we have learned.

The search for serious chocolate drove our crew all over the mall and
even outside to "The Cheesecake Factory". A monster slice of chocolate
cake was sacrificed with good intentions.

The number of teens that wanted to have their pictures taken with us, or
simply of us was uplifting. I hope to see some of those eventually.

We voted to go to Souper Salad at the same location for the next GDtD.
Where my memory is failing me is the date and time. Hopefully, somebody
will post this on the LSWA Yahoogroup List, shortly.

A howl is needed here. I grew up with this man keeping me entertained and always laughing at his antics.....

Hi,

I'm Kevin Hosey and I'll be appearing at the DFW Trekfest in Grand Prairie on
May 6 to sign copies of volumes 6 and 8 of the "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds"
anthologies published by Pocket Books. I have short stories in both books, so if
you have copies bring them along. I'll also have a few books there if you want
to pick them up.

DFW Trekfest takes place at the beautiful Uptown theater and it's your chance to
see digital versions of Star Trek II, III and IV on the big screen again, so
don't miss it.

For more on this event, go to http://www.dfwtrekfest.blogspot.com

For more on my books, visit my site at http://www.kevinhosey.com

Thanks and I'll see you there.

Greetings all, I wanted to send this along. I dont normally send this kind of thing, but feel strongly about the cause.
My wife and I will be riding in the MS150 (Multiple Sclerosis 150 mile bike ride) in May. I wanted to pass the link below on to everyone for those inclined to make donations. I am a member of the Health-Markets team with my wife.
We rode in this last year and it was a BLAST!!!
It is a good cause and helps alot of people. They raise much needed money for assistance and research.
My wife and I both wore bandannas signed by two people we know that have MS. They were so grateful that we did this, both for the fact that their spirit was there for the ride and also that so many riders were there for the cause.

I wear what I can of the Klingon variety, but they have strict reg's on attire. I am going to be marking my bike this year, so they will know a Warrior rides among them. Mua hahahahahah!!
