<< Hi Steve,
Thanks for this list. I noticed that you mentioned the Interlinear by Jay P
Green is out of print. Actually, the four volume set is now out of print,
but there is now a one-volume Hebrew-English-Greek version, which I
purchased from Amazon.com this summer. A word of warning, however:
although this book has a convenient listing of Strong's numbers for every
word, I have found (while researching for my Hebrew CD project) that in many
places the given Strong's number is wrong. Oftentimes, the books
substitutes the number for a synonym of the word (for example, in many
places #2416--chayah--is substituted for #3427--yashav, which can both mean
"to live"). Sometimes, it's just a matter of substituting a 7 for a 4 in
the number (such as #7416 instead of #4416), or making it one number ahead
(as in 614 instead of 613). Therefore, this book should not be taken as the
final authority on Strong's numbers for any given word. Rather, if it is
critical to know the numbers, they must be doubled checked with the actual
concordance. But, it is still a very helpful tool, which I have gotten much
use out of. Here is the link to get it from Amazon.com:

For online Bible references, I also use:
http://bible1.crosswalk.com/Lexicons/Hebrew/ For a searchable Hebrew
Lexicon with BDB definitions, and a list of verses they appear in, plus some
other features, such as a link to the root word where appropriate.
http://www.bju.edu/bible/ For an online Bible that has all of the text of
the Bible where every major word is linked to its entry in the lexicon.
Each of the verbs also show a link to an entry showing the stem and tense of
the verb, plus the frequency of that combination. I have found it to be
useful, especially when double checking the Strong's numbers from the
Interlinear that I have.
And, no recommended reading list would be complete without The Word:
http://www.homestead.com/edenics/word_intro1.html, the dictionary that
proves etymologically that Hebrew was the original Mother Tongue, and that
English and many other languages had their origin in it!
That's all for now. Shalom,
