As the lease transfer with the DNR has not yet been finalized, hunting on Lopez Hill will be proceeding as in years past. Check the Calendar  for season dates.

Note: The General (October 11-31) and Late Buck (November 13-16) seasons are the times you are most likely to see hunters on The Hill. If you are particularly concerned about meeting up with hunters, then it might be good to avoid the hill on those dates, especially on the weekend.

During hunting season it's a good idea to wear bright clothing or hunter orange, especially if you are hiking or biking alone. If you are hiking with a dog, for her own safety please keep her on a leash.
