'LONE STAR' COLLECTORS.
'Lone Star' was originally the Toy Division of Die Casting
Machine Tools Ltd. of 152 Green Lanes, Palmers Green, North
London and, from 1956, also at Hatfield, Hertfordshire, U.K.
The Hatfield production plant, being the last of Lone Star's
three factories to be still manufacturing products, went
into Receivership in 1983. Subsequently, under German
ownership, the Hatfield plant sadly closed down completely
in June 1988. The end of an era!

A high-quality 196-page well-illustrated softback book,
Size 248mm x 185mm at £19.50 plus postage and packing,
still obtainable in limited 'first' edition, lists the
products and explains the intriguing story. Lone Star
was also famous for its die-cast cap-firing pistols and rifles.

The 'Lone Star' website (see its URL below) has 'links' to various segments, i.e. selection of products; the company's history including group photos of former staff and factory scenes. Another segment shows photos of the annual exhibition held at Crews Hill, ENFIELD, North London, where Lone Star collections, including working 'OOO' gauge model railway layouts, are put on public view by their owners.
