Greetings Everyone!

I trust that everyone is getting into the festive season! A great time was had by all who attended the Vandoos-Canadian Expat Meetup Christmas gathering on the 13th! For those of us that are not fortunate enough to be packing and spreading our wings this season for snow-covered or sun-filled destinations fear not, there will be a Vandoos on the 22nd! We'll be heading for a cozy pub we frequented a couple of years ago; The Mitre in Lancaster Gate!

Real ale from Adnams, Greene King and Brakspear, with San Miguel for yellow beer fans, line up in front of a well-prepared bar that – even though there were few takers – has its sleeves rolled up ready for moderate cocktail requests. There's also honest pub grub on offer, with a cooked-to-requirements burger served on a mini butcher's block that scored on quality, quantity and imaginative presentation. I have reserved an area at the front of the pub off to the right hand-side.
