I also do not even know who is playing. I'll be there. Let me know what you
would like for me to bring. Wine? Chips?

Actually, Superbowl kickoff starts at 5:15 p.m. anyway, so you can
still get that knitting in and make it home for the game in time!

Knitting at Lee's, 3649 West Eddy Street, 1-4 p.m.

Yay yarn!!

Hello all,

A friend of mine is looking for someone to make a custom quilt. This
is someone who understands the value of hand made things, and will pay
appropriately.

So if you know of any quilters, please let me know.

Thanks!

Hello all,

Some of you expressed interest in the Windy City Knitting Guild, so I
wanted to let you know that the next meeting is Tuesday, February 17
at 6:45 PM. It will be at the Sulzer Library, 4455 North Lincoln Avenue.

Franklin Habit (local author, photographer, artist and blogger) will
be there to talk about his work. http://the-panopticon.blogspot.com/

You don't have to join the Guild to go to meetings. There are
refreshments, and everyone is really nice.

Hope you are all weathering the return of the cold well!

There's a new coffee shop called New Wave Coffee on Logan and
Milwaukee that I like very much. I just contacted them to ask if
they'd be open to having a knitting circle there, and they said that
some knitters had been coming in but they didn't have a regular
meeting time. Are any of y'all aware of this group? Would anyone else
be interested in knitting at New Wave once every week or two, perhaps
on Thursday evenings?

I've gone to that meet up, only once at this point, unfortunately, and they meet
every Thursday at 7pm to knit. And there were other random knitters scattered
throughout the place while we were there. It's a nice little coffee house with
good drinks, although their food selection isn't the greatest. Then again,
they've only been open since Jan 1st, so it will get better.

I'm all for supporting small local businesses. And it's a nice place, I've been
there a few times on my own.

There is a group of knitters that meets there regularly, usually on
Thursdays. You can find them on meetup.com

I like New Wave too, especially since they have an art show up right now that
includes one of my knit pieces! The show will be up until March 15, when we are
having a closing reception from 6 to 9--do stop by then too.

I'd love to try to stop in on a knit night with you all, but don't have any
night that works best, so just make a proposal and I'll try to walk over.

Ann

Hello everyone! I'm hosting another fun knitting meeting at my house,
this coming Sunday, March 1st from 1-4 p.m. By the way, if you're
interested, (no pressure) many boxes of girl scout cookies will be
available to purchase! Otherwise, just come and knit with me--kids are
welcome too!

Oh also, if anyone has a swift/ball-winder, could you bring that as
well? I need to wind two hanks-o-yarn!

I look forward to seeing you all! :-)
