Vroooommm! rolls into Ballard this summer for some speed racin good times! In this high energy “NASComedy”, the fast lane is stalled to a screeching halt by the arrival of a woman driver on the NASCAR circuit. When Holly “Legs” Nelson takes the lead in the season standings, egos are bruised, mullets are ruffled and all hell breaks loose on the circuit. Sabotage, scandal and an all female cast combine to make an evening of high octane hijinks and crazy gender-fender-benders you won’t soon forget. The Vrooommm! universe offers up crazed fans, daredevil drivers, suspicious sponsors and more mustaches, beer and karaoke bars than you can imagine. It’s “slap your mama good” summer fun!
Vrooommm! was written by Jerome and Fulbright Fellow, Janet Allard a current core member of the Playwrights Center in Minneapolis. It was conceived and developed with Michael Bigelow Dixon, Director of Studio Theater Programming and Associate Artist at the Guthrie Theater. Directing the Live Girls! production is local director, actor and 14/48 and One World Theatre producer, Shawn Belyea, fresh off of directing the Balagan hit Picasso at the Lapin Agile. The all female cast of hilarious ladies includes Erin Stewart (Beta-Society and long time LG! Cabaret performer) Lisa Viertel (Twilight Zones Live! And Crescendo falls) Erin Kraft (800 Words, Quickies 8) Mandy Price (Recent Chicago transplant with an improv background touring with the famed Second City) and Susan Graf (The June Carter Cash Project and Quickies 8).
The Production team includes Assistant Director and Videographer Nik Perleros Costume Designer Hannah Schnabel, lighting designer Ahren Buhmann, sound designer Shane Regan, costume assistant Michele Hallman set by Brian Stricklan, props by Nikki Przasnyski, and Stage Manager Laura Lindle, with production assistance from Grant Laine, Jen Cabarrus, Chrystian Shepperd and Meghan Arnette.
