I was about to lock the LM2000 version 1 at 1.037,
but Stephen Prower writes about interesting things that
I think I must include.
I cite:

2. Instead I shall just report that I have tackled the problem
that I want to Date stamp Items, but unhelpfully then can only
see the Date stamp in a cascaded stack of Items, not the first
line of text!
The solution was to write two Recorder macros, and assign them
to keys on the Control keyboard.
The first macro creates a new Item, and then inserts two
Returns, followed by two Up arrows, in front of the Date stamp.
For editing purposes, the second macro takes the insertion point
to the end of the Item, and then brings it back, past the Date
stamp, to the end of the actual Item text.
I am sorry if I have reported this to you already, and so repeat
myself!
However I am now using the macros, and report no problems with
them to date.
[On the other hand, when testing the first macro, before I
could get it to work, I did find that I had to edit it with
RecEdit to allow Shift Insert 990ms to complete.]
3. And I shall make one suggestion for LM 2000.
As you know, moving the mouse pointer over the Resize corner of
an Item window (but not a Concept window) brings the Item to the
top.
However when Items are stacked from left to right in a Cascade,
being on the bottom right, the Resize corner is only exposed for
the last Item.
So, save on a 'disordered' (ie unstacked, untiled, and crowded)
desktop, the feature is of little practical use.
Whereas if the corner were on the bottom left, it would be
exposed for every Item in a stack.
One could then run the mouse pointer up the lefthand side of
the stack conveniently bringing each Item in turn to the top for
viewing.
The problem with relocating the Resize corner on the bottom left
is that the left is not the 'natural-handed' side (certainly for
right-handed people).
The left may also not be the natural side because Europeans
write from left to right.
One could leave the Resize corner where it is, but make moving
the mouse pointer over the left hand bottom corner also bring
the item to the top.
But then there are two 'hotspots' that one might
inadvertently, as well as deliberately, move the mouse pointer
over.
So I think the best 'solution' would be to make moving the
mouse pointer over the Hide button also bring the Item to the
top.
One would admittedly still have two hotspots.
But whereas a second hotspot on the bottom left corner would
only afford the one convenience of bringing an Item in a stack
to the top by simply moving the mouse over it, a second hotspot
that is also located over the Hide button would give one the
second convenience of viewing an item, and hiding it, just
by moving the mouse pointer to the button, and clicking on it.

======= end =====
It is definitely a good idea to make the "bringtofront"
consistent. I might add a "send to back" too.
I have a plan to make the date appear on the upper frame,
and make it updatable (the date that you see on the popup menu
header).
Write if you have comments!
