To ensure that there are no misunderstandings here, I wish to clarify
things as follows:

1. The lists are not the BLUG, the BLUG is not the lists. This means that
while I am the list admin of the linux-bangalore-* lists, I am not the
coordinator/administrator/etc. of the BLUG. The BLUG exists independently
of the lists.

2. I run these lists to help the BLUG achieve its goals, but the BLUG is
free to start other lists. People who disagree with my rules on these
lists are also free to join/start other lists, and have the BLUG endorse
them if necessary.

3. In case of a dispute on *these* lists, I *am* the final arbitrator, but
only because someone has to be, and it won't work if the list owner and
the final arbitrator are two different people.

I started these lists with particular goals in mind - one being "focus,
fun and decorum", another being "Linux and Community" - stuff I was
unable to find on other lists I was part of. The BLUG lists have lived up
to these goals splendidly, but I will be ruthless when I feel that people
are trying to shoot an own-goal, start any form of political bickering or
just being plain obnoxious. Any member is free to leave the lists,
join other lists or start his/her own, just as I left the LI lists when I
disagreed with *their* (lack of) rules/focus.

I am being explicit because I want no misunderstanding and flag waving on
these lists.

These lists are not a public rallying ground for wannabe politicians -
they are my home. You are welcome here, but please wipe your shoes at the
door and don't criticise my choice of music.

This aspect of the BLUG lists is neither open to discussion, nor open to
interpretation or challenge.

Atul
